Versatile and easy to use
For years I struggled to use a stepladder to get my clothes off the upper racks of my walk in closet or I had to rely on others to get them down for me. A few month ago I saw a dressing stick at a store and I knew I had to get one for me. Such a simple tool, but it makes getting the hangers up or down with little effort. I can also use the stick to get some of the smaller (fabric) bins, which have a handle in the front, off the upper shelves, but it's a little more difficult to get them back up with the stick. However, it gets easier with practice. If you have really tall racks/shelves, this stick might be too short, but for rooms with 8 or 9 ft. ceilings, this stick is just the right size.I have also used the stick for other tasks, like putting the pull cord from blinds on a hook that is out of my reach (some of my blinds stay down all the time, so I tie the pull cord together and hang the cord on a hook out of the way (and out of reach of pets and kids).

More uses than one
I purchased this to use in the store to get the items that are out of my reach and it isn't too big to carry in the store. I also use it to reach my filter vent to open and close since the panel is high up over my oven since I have an extra high ceiling.

It is what it is.
For the price it is what it is, you should get at least a year out of it. It's a steel alloy that holds up better then the wood. if you keep it dry it should last longer.

Works great, but the sock removal part breaks off easily.
Works great, but the sock removal part breaks off easily. Have bought two, both are broken.

Just right
I bought it to use with my curtains. They just don't make curtains with a pull cord any more and I don't want finger prints all over my curtains.I have one set covering a window over the stairs. I can reach more easily to close and open those.Right now, it is December and it makes reaching around the Christmas tree easier. When we get home at night, I can even ask my 8yr old to close the curtains and it is ok that he is too short; rather than yanking on them to close them, he reaches up with this rod and pushes them closed. It helps that the metal parts are plastic coasted, this gives just enough friction to maneuver the fabric.

Very helpful tool
Looks and works as advertised. The hooks at each end are plastic coated so are smooth and don't 'catch' on clothing. It's a simple tool but made well for what it is. Good for someone like me who is waiting for a much needed hip replacement - can't bend like I usually do at the moment. I guess my husband could have made one for me but at this price I decided to click and buy so I would have it right away. It arrived yesterday and I'm already using it. Very helpful.
