Excellent Value
This model is the same design as the Harbor freight model. The only difference is that the body of the unit is of a little thicker steel and it is chrome plated. It's also more rugged at the major bends in the stamped parts. It should suffice for my needs. My old one lasted through many hundreds of notches and is still functional. When compared to the expensive alternatives out there this is an excellent value for a combination horizontal vertical tubing notcher.

works well
It took some minor adjustment and it works like a champ. I recommend Diablo hole saws, they cut like butter.

Decent tooling for the money
I have used several different brands of these style notchers and found this one to be a little better quality materials than most. It did need the typical adjustments such as the center line (Added a 1/16" shim between the bearing arbor and the stand), the lower mount was not at 90* angle (vise and a hammer with an angle finder to correct this issue), The included degree markers are not even close (I always remove them anyways and use a digital angle finder). The tubing clamp to stand mounting need a little massaging to make it flat (a good file and a vise). The bushing is good quality and is holding up well with good oiling. I have notched several dozen tubes now with diameters of 1", 1.5", 1.75" and with the adjustments made it is holding accuracy well. There is not enough height to allow through cutting a full 60* cutting angle on any diameter tubing larger than 1". If you need to through cut at 60* you will need a much taller notcher and most likely a longer drill press down feed.

Decent for price
Not bad for the price. Built almost a cage with it. Bushings gave out today so now it wobbles too much to do much of anything. Might try to find a replacement and update

Almost worth what you pay.
The item is sturdy. Some fiddling and finangling required. Wish the angle gauge was set correctly to avoid the need to check and adjust every time.

You get what you pay for on this one.
This notcher is a made in China junky notcher. The clamp did night line up with the drill shaft correctly out of the box. So, I was forced to shim between the clamp and housing with thin washers to get it to line up. Without shims, it was leaving part of the steel pipe intact on one side. However, I gave it 5 stars, because once I made the modification, I was able to make over 60 notches without incident. And, for a hundred bucks, it was like the old saying, you get what you pay for. All in all, be ready to modify this tool if you expect it to work. And, do not think this is a daily use notcher. If you need that, spend the extra money and get a good one.

Home DIY'er Very Satisfied
Seems to be well made, as sturdiness goes. The fit and finish is good. For the quality, I thought the price was reasonable. Using this to notch 4130 Chro-Moly tube up to 1.75". Helps make a very precise notch. Overall, I am quite satisfied and would recommend. Money well spent!
