Healthiest and best bang for your buck for 100% C-8 and C-10 fatty acids. No long-chain fatty-acids
This MCT Oil is probably the best I could find on Amazon for the price. I am amazed this oil doesn't even have C-12 Fatty Acids in it. Experts claim MCT oil should be at least 93% by weight of C-8, C-10 and C-12 fatty acids to be classified as MCT Oil. C-8 and C-10 mimic short-chain fatty acids, C-12 is more of a medium chain fatty acid. Short chain FA is best, medium chain fatty acid is next best. Most MCT oils have all 3 FAs, but not even close to 93%, some as low as 65%. I think at that point one could question if it is false labeling, as it is really Coconut Oil, not MCT Oil. How to calculate? Add up the grams/serving of each separate Fatty Acid (ex: Caprylic Acid C-8 and Capric Acid C-10) , divide by the total grams/serving, which is typically 14 grams/serving, then multiply by 100 to get percentage. If the MCT oil is less than 93% of C8, C10 and C12 FAs, you are looking at an inferior product which is adding long-chain fatty acids to the mix, which is not healthy.
