Yes, if you print a cake on a shirt and make decorations for it then you could use it for cake decorating purposes

If my project is larger than my easy press, can I just use the easy press first on one half and then a second time on the other half?

Yes you can, however for a better outcome it is always best to use one that covers everything at once to give even pressure
