Get out the magnifying glass!
This book came highly recommended from a food blog. Ordered without reviewing because I love to create infusions and cookbooks are my favorite type of reading. And the high praise. It has LOTS of BIG pictures and the few and far between recipes are in such tiny print, I literally had to get out the magnifier. And I wear glasses. The recipes are fine, I started one of them.Too many pictures. Print too tiny.Got 2 stars off for those items.

On closer reading, TERRIBLE guide to infusing
I bought this book awhile ago and enjoyed the pictures on my first flip through it. I tried finding a recipe to try but nothing sparked my interest, Still, it was a pretty book on the shelf. Today, I got it down because I have a quart of black currants from my garden and I thought, “hey- I will find a recipe or instructions in that book to make an alcohol from them!” Started reading the recipes and realized just how terrible this book is. I do not believe for one second that the authors tried most of them out. In the section about infusing fruit, they tell you to muddle and shake it for 30 seconds and strain. Tried it and the flavor could best be described as nonexistent. When I google recipes, they suggest infusing for 3 months in a dark cupboard, on top of different methods for prepping berries. I find this book a terrible waste of money and think the authors are beyond lazy if this is literally the best ideas they could up with. Do not buy this book unless you are only interested in a picture book

Yum! Grilled Pizza Bianca with Infused chili oil
I loved this book. It had a variety of recipes from infusing waters, spirits and oils and recipes of how to cook with and use these infused items. I can’t wait to try more out. My favorite is the Olio Santo with spicy Calibrian chili oil and the recipe the book gives to make a grilled pizza with this oil. Yum!

So Basic it's Embarrassing
I'm so disappointed. The majority of these recipes call for no more technique than "shake in a mason jar." I count three syrups, a couple of overnight cold brews, and one buttered popcorn recipe. How is this a book about infusions? I wanted to legitimately infuse herbs and favors into shelf stable oils, vinegars, syrups and more. I wanted to know how sugar, salt, fat, time and temperature will affect the flavor and shelf life of my infusions. I want to know how to get the most flavor out of my fresh ingredients, and to preserve those favors all year. The recipes here won't keep more than three months, if that!Adding insult to injury, the writing is poor. The phrase "we've been known to..." appears frequently enough that you can see the authors are a little too proud of themselves at the moment.I will say the bourbon peaches look delicious, and there are a few other things I'll try. That's the only reason I gave it a second star. Otherwise, the hour it took me to read this book would have been better spent finding recipes on Pinterest. Also, I want my money back.

This is an excellent book. Only complaint is given the price
This is an excellent book. Only complaint is given the price, it would be nice to have a few more recipes in there. Most of that money paid for high quality printed paper/pictures. Still, if you want a simple, beginner book that motivates you, this is excellent. I got it as a gift but I did hesitate on the price for my own personal purchase

Hard to read due to tiny, faint, fonts
Pro: Beautiful bold photos.Con: Microscopic fonts.I was drawn to purchase the book based on the imagery. Once I received the book I quickly realized it would be challenging to read the recipes without a magnifying glass. My solution is to re-write each recipe on the page in larger print. Yep, that destroys the book, making it unappealing for selling as a used book, but it is necessary.Bravo to the photographer. Boo to the graphic designer.

... "water"s and several of the teas and I have liked them all very much
I've made many of the "water"s and several of the teas and I have liked them all very much. The oils I tried are tasty too. (I can't have alcohol, so I can't vouch for those.) I've liked everything I tried, even though a few seemed like unusual combinations to me. I am happy I bought it.

Great Resource
Great resource and some interesting recipes. I've already infused some vodka using the instructions in the book (although I did my own flavors). I wish there was a companion book to this with recipes for foods that can be made with different oil infusions. I have their other book "Shake" which can be used with some alcohol infusions. Crossing my fingers for a recipe book for food soon!

A great way to market their mason jar lids
Cool book, very pretty and easy to follow. I wish it had more recipes and combinations then hipster table setting pictures. The downside of the book is that the recommended system for making and distributing the oils and liquors is through mason jars that require lids that these guys make.

Not what i'm looking for, unfortunately
Lots and lots of beautiful and large pictures occupying the 168 pages. Lot of recipes, as the book name suggests, but almost zero scientific explanations or teachings.
