I recently moved into a home with built in bookshelves. I was excited to finally have a place to hold our extensive book collection however, my wife quickly informed me that the bookshelves were for our decorative items!!! Now I don't understand why you would take a perfectly good use of space and only put a few things on each shelf or why you would take a perfectly good bookshelf and decide to not use it for BOOKS but what do you do when the wife gets something like that into her head.She then informed me that she needed these slim nonskid book ends to hold our nicer looking books in nice organized stacks since the plants, pictures, and "cute stuff" she had selected wasn't durable enough to hold up an instruction manual - let alone an actual book. Rather than driving from big box store to big box store looking for them I hopped on my trusty Amazon and found these within a few minutes. Thanks to the 2-day Prime shipping I was able to check this off my honey-do list without leaving the house. They were exactly what she was looking for.

These are very sturdy bookends, perfect for use on open or floating shelves, and have a wide enough base that can keep even very heavy books upright without a problem. They are definitely not fancy-looking or decorative, but they do what they are supposed to. Of course, they can also keep DVDs or CDs in place too if you are still one of those who does the physical media thing (which if you still have a lot of physical books is probably the case). I definitely recommend these.

item arrived in two days, magnifico, standard delivery! product well made and functional; rubber skid material provides sufficient friction with weight of the first few books to keep the vertical position of the shelf of books.. ordered 12 sets; can be used singly or in pairs; i had looked extensively and had found single sets in the 5 to 10 dollar range which was too pricey for me. i was going to fabricate some inexpensive ends when i found these and saved money, time, and humor.. would buy these again in a heartbeat.. would not use these books with outside covers more than a foot as they are only five or so inches high. so they can resist the horizontal movement but will fail if the books are too tall..using these at camp on some open shelves containing a variety of heights, widths, and hard and paper covers; more random than not in arrangement; the book ends work well with all these. and did i say inexpensive? then i'll say again: great value/price.

These are really good for the price. The only reason they did not get 5 stars from me is because one of them came with the paint chipped or scratched. When you claim something to be new you'd expect it to look new. It looks like someone had opened these and returned them especially because the packaging was also ripped and looked like it was taped on by a 4 year old. Other than that they do their job. I am going to assume you'd ask why didn't I just return them or complain, well one I'm lazy and did not want to deal with the hassle and two I planned on painting over them anyway. Other than they came and looked like they were opened these are a great buy.

These are basic, standard bookends. I use them on a glass shelf, and the nonskid on the bottom works great. It doesn't scratch the glass and the bookends stay in place for the most part. They come with a large enough "shelf" on the outside that they could easily be decorated to match a room theme. They could also easily be spray painted to match any decor. The height of the bookend is probably around 6 inches. We use them to hold children's books, and they do a fantastic job.After owning them for quite some time, the 'no slip' bottom has started to slip just a little bit. I think dust and build up on the glass shelves is probably the culprit, not the bookend itself. They have done a wonderful job for over a year. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again if the need arises.Not much else to say about bookends...they work!

These bookends are one of those small purchases that leave me wondering why I didn't track them down much earlier. They're an ideal size for DVDs (too small for books) with a nice rubbery kind of material on the bottom side and enough gumption (what a great word) to stand their ground, you know, they don't "creep" along. I was really happy with these. I had some weird pair of bookends from Ikea that didn't work well at all and which I was only too happy to toss in the recycling bin once these arrived.They look good, they're simple, they're strong, they have the "nonskid" coating on the bottom -- excellent solution. Could not be happier. If you have a lot of books, get the bigger version. This size will not hold books IMHO. OTOH, if you're looking at the bigger size for use with DVDs, that would be overkill.Great product. 100% recommended. Love these!

I have quite a few books that I needed to keep in check on a couple of shelves, and since these have a non-skid feature, I thought to give it a try. I wasn't impressed with the bookends that were very artistic or heavily ornate. They took up too much space and sometimes the books would push them out of the way and they can fall - not cool.These are cleverly designed, unobtrusive, and are strong enough to keep a whole row of books in place without budging. It's worth the price - and it's quite affordable. I'd recommend this to anyone who's serious about your books on a shelf or a desktop kept neatly in check.
