LEGO City Advent Calendar 60235 Building Kit (234 Pieces)

This was our first time buying these and we love them so much it will now be a yearly tradition! Our kids are 6 (LEGO Friends) and 7 (LEGO City) and they get so excited to see what new build they’ll have each day. Legos are expensive in general but I think this is a fantastic value because it’s a new project each day, the theme is great (each days project goes with the overall design), and they’re just fun designs to play with! All of these little projects they do each day will easily get thrown into the mix of our regular LEGO projects after Christmas. They’ll kind of be the “accessories” to all the houses and cities we normally make.The only issue we had was that a couple of times a piece would be “missing” from that days opening but then we would find it later sitting in another days spot. We ended up using our regular LEGO stash to fill in, in the meantime. Each days LEGO’s are in a plastic bag but a few of our pieces were loose and landed in a different day. No big deal though once we found the missing piece we’d go back and rebuild the original one.On the inside of the flap of the day you open, you will see a little picture of what that day’s build is supposed to look like. There aren’t step by step instructions but the projects are so small that it’s not supposed to be too difficult to put together. A couple of times something got put together incorrectly and we had to help them sort it out, but that little bit of challenge makes it a fun family mini project each day. For the Friends set it’s ages 6+ and that is just about right for them to do it on their own. For the City set it is ages 5+ which seems appropriate as well, as there aren’t as many small pieces as the Friends set has.We definitely recommend these to our friends & family and will be getting them for our kids for years to come.

Oh man are these great. Perfect for younger kids. Sets are easy to build for 3-5 year olds and they are cool enough to be excited every day. Really cool variety for the price, and Legos typically have less sugar and more fiber than most candy based Advent calendars. Will be buying every year.

My son is almost 4 now and these models are great for him. The models are simple enough that's he is able to do most of them with little to no help and he absolutely loves building something each day. He wakes up excited to go downstairs and build something new each day.Keep in mind these are very basic small models and thus the pieces are generally on the small side which means they do take a little more dexterity to put together than some of the standard kits.

We have purchased LEGO advents as a tradition for the last 5 years for my son. They never disappoint and are always so much fun! He has such a large collection just from his previous years. This one might be our favorite though. Lots of cute/different Christmas themed items to build. His favorite was the “snowball launcher!” Haha! If you’re looking for something special and to start your own tradition, this will not let you down! I highly recommend this brand

This was a very fun activity with my 6 year old. The different sets everyday were fub and cute. Some of the instructions were hard to understand but we figured them out. There are extra pieces that come with several of the parts, so that is nice if you loose any. Highly recommend this for all ages.

The kit is a great value I feel like... The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the numbers are not in order... When you say something is an Advent CALENDAR it should have the days in order, you know like a CALENDAR! We bought this for our 5.5yr old son this year to help him be able to count down the days until Christmas. Hes a super smart kid, but sometimes has a hard time judging time especially at scale. We were all excited, but when the numbers are just randomly spread out all over the board, it is hard to judge where you are or how many days are left until Christmas. Either way he loved it, and enjoyed getting a new little piece everyday that eventually added up to a entire scene

This is a great collectible gift for any Lego lover. I get one for my grandson every year and he loves looking forward to each calendar day in December and putting together another piece to the Christmas theme for that year. You open a little door for each Calendar day (24) and find a package hiding in there waiting to be open. I set them up with my little Christmas village and its adds a delightful scene for the Christmas Holiday. It also comes with a folding back drop scene of its own, that you can also use as a display to show off your little characters and all the accessories.

Having fun making a LEGO story with figurines while obeying our state mandate to remain at home. This is great for little props to make the story better. Will be ordering more LEGO items today. I would imagine that kids would love this, even if you use it at another time of the year, so don't wait. Good to use as an incentive for good behavior/finishing schoolwork, etc. during lockdown time.
