Amazing device
This is an amazing device. It worked right after connecting the power and voice cables to the wall. No further setup was needed. The microphones catch human voice from every corner or our conference room. Also, the password protected administrative menu is a plus. Managing the phone book is pretty easy, as soon as you get familiar with menu navigation keys. The only thing I'd wish is that it could be able to be used with a PBX direct connection, but unfortunately it only works with an analog telephone line. I definitely recommend this unit to those that have an analog line dedicated to their conference room.

Trouble with conference lag? Two people try to talk? This set is your solution!
I had this phone in my corporate office and the sound was always clear and loud. I decided to purchase one for use in board meetings here in our community. As before no surprise here either, this is solid performer which supersedes many competitors. The special DSP feature make conversation lag free unlike many other sets out there making remote business meetings successful and stress free ensuring no two people try to talk at the same time. Great product, always recommend.

Great for conference rooms
This was for our startup's conference room and it lasted AGES. It's exactly what you need (you may need those little polycom mic pods depending on how big the room/table is, but the speakerphone on this is pretty powerful). Sound quality is good, the keys are easy to press (although they did get a bit 'soft' after several years). Good value if you don't have the money to invest in super super high end A/V equipment.

Not worth the cost--works the same as my cheap Panasonic
I really wanted this system to work--especially for $400+. For the price, I expected superb voice quality during conference calls/ on speakerphone, however this works no better than my relatively inexpensive Panasonic KX-TG1061. Got the same old complaints while using the Polycom: "Are you in a tunnel? Can you get off speakerphone; we can't hear you. Are you on one of those awful Polycom systems?" I sound better on Skype. Even with a bad Internet connection. And . . . I have an incredibly small office and sat only two feet from the thing, but alas, no luck. You have to practically make out with it to satisfy the call recipient. In my last attempt to make this work, I purchased the extension microphones for the system. Still had the same problem: unless I held the thing right next to my mouth, people on the other end complained about the poor voice quality. Bye, bye extension mics. And so long, Polycom SoundStation 2. I missed the 30-day refund window, though (partially because I wanted to fully test with the extension microphones), which means I did not get a full refund for this terrible, terribly overpriced product. Learned my lesson. Unless this thing was a lemon, I advise you to stay FAR AWAY from Polycom. I only wish I knew of a conferencing system that actually works--preferably one for less than $400.

Works on only a SINGLE phone line!!!
I purchased this unit plus the additional microphones and it is a great unit with a good price. We haven't even used it but are returning it! None of the literature on this site or even on the Polycom site explains that it will ONLY work on a single phone line. We have analog lines so that was not an issue. However like any business, we have multiple lines. And, this unit cannot work on a multi-line system. It worked fine when I hooked to our fax line. But NO dial tone when hooked to any other phone jack in our building. It is a shame that the company does NOT provide this critical key piece of information. I think this is true of ALL of their products. For the cost of the equipment, this should be disclosed!!!

Best Analog Speakerphone...
Polycom quality... it's a great thing. This is the expandable model which means you can plug in two extra microphone pucks for reall long conference room tables. I run three of these units at work and the sound quality is excellent. This is an "analog" phone, not digital or SIP. Polycom does make a SIP phone like this, but the quality isn't the same. If you can get away with analog, go for this one.

Polycom conference phone
We purchased this phone to replace a much older (10+ years!) phone that worked so poorly, conference calls were a burden and a challenge. Voices were distorted and sound quality was uneven (voices would drop off in mid-word and then be audible for several seconds, and drop off again). We purchased the phone with the satellite mikes, because we often have a group of 10-15 people in one room communicating with 8 to 10 people at other locations. The mikes and the phone work *really* well - just as other folks' reviews said they would. Delivery was exceptionally fast, and the phone and mikes were well-packaged, too. I recommend the product and the vendor.
