BaliYo Twin Handled Pen - High Performance Heavy Duty Writing Tool for Precision Writing, Black - YCN100

Fun, simple little toy. I never received any complaints for using it at work and it was just nice and cool to have there sometimes. As a pen, it gets the job done, but it's definitely not a great option as a balisong trainer as it is made of cheap plastic and is very lightweight (which is usually not an enthusiast preference) but it's nice to have. Its tradeoff for not being a good balisong trainer is that it can be used to write with and it is not very expensive. It would be rather costly if it was a regular pen, but, you see, this is no regular pen. Based on my understanding, the Heavy Duty BaliYo is probably a better enthusiast option but it will obviously cost more. I've had this for a few months, I stopped using it regularly but it hasn't broken on me so that's good. I don't really use it anymore because I haven't been bringing it to work and because now I have better balisong trainer options for at home and outside of work. I may eventually buy the heavy duty one some day.

I like it overall, a nice little fidget toy for me to have at work but if you're looking to do flips and tricks with it like a trainer, look elsewhere UNLESS you're willing to put in the time and effort to learn with its weight and lightweight design. I find myself throwing it more than flipping it but still, the gimmick is fun enough for me to like it. Also, this page says that the ink is BLACK when, in fact, it is blue. I didn't buy from the official Baliyo website because I was trying to find ones with black ink (my workplace only accepts black ink signatures) but only found blue. That's why I got it from here but disappointed to say, it's blue. However, if that's not a concern for you, it's a fun little toy, I can't lie about that.

Great for tricks and curing boredom I had a lot of fun with them the biggest problem is that they break so easily I have orders 3 and all have broken the same way I orderd a normal black one first but it broke at the part where one of the screws is the plastic around it broke so I ordered another one but in the grey version it arrived quickly but I had it for 3 days before it broke in the exact same way so then I ordered a Bali to wing expecting it to be the best one it arrived and I was so excited I was doing tricks and fun stuff with it on the first day but then on the second day it broke at the same point it was one of the best feeling ones but I was sad when it broke even faster than the others

The product was very fun when it first arrived, and carried it wherever I went; and it fit great in my change pocket in my jeans. Flipping was very smooth, that is, until I dropped it. The shock caused one of the screws to tighten, and now the two swinging arms are very uneven in smoothness while twirling it around which throws off the whole thing, making it very difficult. And the second time I accidentally dropped it, one of the spring clips flew off, never to be seen again, and a big chunk of the plastic on the end where the metal weights are broke off. Lastly, the ink dried up about 1 week of having it. Now, it's just a little conversation piece with PIECES missing from it......

This is a fun playful product. Spyderco is the knife of such special forces units as the Marines and Navy Seals. There's a reason your favorite book characters like Hannibal Lechter and Jack Reacher have them as their weapon of choice. Look on You Tube, and you'll find Kahli Martial arts. This is a Filipino martial arts style that involves knives and sticks, and is taught to Marine Special forces. Spyderco is the knife they are trained with. Everything they make is made here in America,. The steel comes from Seki-City Japan. If that's not engraved on the blade, you don't have a real Spyderco, and there are MANY fakes. I learned this at their site and factory. Or call them in Golden to confirm. Because nothing on earth beats a Spyderco product! This pen is not the heavy one offered by spyderco, so the "heavy" description in the title is wrong. Its the light one. Too light really as the lack of weight in the "weighted ends" makes it hard to flip around. So its kind of ok as a fidget toy, but not something you can actually use like a balisong action for practice. It definitely doesnt work the same as the knife both in the size, weight, and action. Sadly its not much good for writing either as while the pen part writes surprisingly well, its very awkward to hold and write with since the arms dont lock back in the open position and so they are flopped over your hand uncomfortably if you try to hold it and write. Can't recommend as a pen or fidget toy, but I'll keep trying for a while.

2 nd purchased in three years. First broke at a pivot but it’s plastic. Not going to last forever. Great for fidget urges.

Ok here is the deal this toy is awesome!!! The shipping is great. It got here 3 days earlier. My problem with the balisongs is that it is illegal. I can't bring it to school and flip it through the boring classes and annoy the teacher with the noise :) So i looked for an alternative. I found the baliyo and i was very very exited! I read the reviews that said that it is a skill based toy and i absolutely agree with that. But it is not harder to flip than any balisong knife. It is a bit light but after 10 minutes you get used to it and you don't even notice it. Plus you don't have to worry for it to come out of your hand and kill someone. I am very very satisfied with this toy. If you child is in to flipping knives then buy it to him/her. It is great chip and useful. The pen works great and i am satisfied with it as well. But the pen is not very easy to use but with a bit of practice it is perfect. But-om line is that this toy is great!!! If you have a doubt buy it you wont regret it. And despite what it shows in the picture the pen is a solid black color.
