I needed a slightly larger box so I ordered this pirate chest. The added caveat was the cool pirate's lock that I know wouldn't keep anyone out of my weed, but I won't have to worry about remembering the combination plus it looks just plain cool. My only complaint was that one of my keys was damaged. Amazon fulfills the order so I couldn't contact the seller, which is fine. Locks like this one are only ten bucks or so. I will be ok with buying another lock. Still, if both keys were good, the lock is perfect for the chest and for a conversation starter whenever anyone sees the box. It's roomy and sturdy. I love it and look forward to using it for many years.

This is really a beautiful box. It's well made and the detail is truly lovely. The only suggestion I can make is to use a smaller lock. This one is so large. The skeleton lock is an amazing touch,and it makes the piece, it just needs to be a little smaller.

I bought these to hold various cremation ashes for beloved pets. The first one was beautiful and sturdy. It even came with a lock. Great purchase! Bought another (and these are NOT cheap!)..... Darn! The second one is very poorly made. It will not close properly as it is not in alignment and the wood is nowhere near as pretty. Highly disappointing on the second one especially at this price!

While cutting down and consolidating keepsakes at home, I had shopped around for a very special storage option for what remained. The beautifully crafted chests from Nautical Cove came up under several searches, and I am grateful that they did. The chest is very impressive looking, strong, well-constructed and provides great protection for the contents. It was a perfect choice, and the Nautical Cove team is highly recommended.

The chest was nicer and heavier duty that I thought it will be. It is solid wood and has a really nice lock and keys. Making feel very real and othentic I bought it for a treasure hunt we did for my 7 year old. The chest was just what I needed to make it all top knoch!

The product was delivered broken in several areas! I don' know if it was the seller stuffing this item in the smallest box they could find, to save a couple bucks, or the Amazon delivery driver mishandling the product, but regardless it's broken now! The chest was delivered to me not being able to close, so how am I supposed to add the lock to secure my valuables?? To top it all off, the antique lock is cheap, and the keys provided doesn't work very well. It's sad, because I was excited about this item.

Overall a solid and neat looking little box. My biggest critique is that my lid isn't quite perfectly aligned. There's enough of a lip in the front that sealing it closed was a struggle, and one back corner of the lid doesn't quite sit flush with the rest of the chest while closed. Out the box I couldn't even put the lock onto it, but with a little time spent finagling with the lid and slightly bending the top of the chest latch I finally got it to latch shut. It's a tight enough fit that it scraped the paint or finish or whatever is on the lock pretty bad when I put it on though, which will be a hassle as I intend to get into this on a regular basis. Also a bunch of the little metal banding strips that stretch across the top are buckled on mine. Overall I'm satisfied with it, it serves the purpose I bought it for and I don't regret the purchase, but I'm posting the review so that future buyers know that the quality isn't always quite as nice as it may be in some of the other review photos.

I love the solid wood, and authentic pirate lock! It’s a true treasure!
