ARGENTINA MATE GOURD YERBA TEA WITH STRAW BOMBILLA 0228

Well, the product image is pretty spot on.. I was annoyed that during order processing and etc. the image for my product was this [...] Which caused some confusion as to what product I would really be receiving. Well it came today, and the packaging is okay. I was pleased that a huge box was not wasted on such a small item, but there was no cushioning for it, either.. but it seemed like it would be okay.Now to the big point, this thing is completely round. Actually a little irregular on the bottom.. Mine does NOT have a flatter bottom as the photos suggest. It does NOT stay sitting on a table, especially if you put the bombilla in. Then it tips immediately over... :( I will not be able to use this as I had hoped.I am wondering if during the curing process (which the paper suggests allowing it to set with warm water for 24/48 hours), maybe it will soften during this process and develop a flatter bottom in accord to the surface it is sitting on... But I'm not so sure about this theory.. if it does work, I will update my review to say so. Otherwise, just expect the flaw to remain true.. it cannot hold liquids, it is more now for the decoration and novelty factor.BUT,the bombilla seems sturdy enough, and buying one of these costs almost the same as buying this entire non functional set, so I'm just cutting my losses here.I'm just a little disappointed that they did not have more photos of the bombilla itself, because it is not a screen type, it is just a spring at the bottom, which feels like it might let in a bit of leaf. We'll see. I will update this review accordingly.It also has a plastic scoop thing, I guess for pushing the leaf aside and preventing above mentioned problem? But that causes it to be even heavier, and it will not work...

I bought this mate because my old one has a crack in it, so I needed a new one. I was hesitant at first to buy one online without seeing and holding it, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality when it arrived. It is a great size and holds more than my other mates, which I really love. It came with a little piece of metal that said "Argentina" that I didn't like glued on, but I just pulled it off and it came off clean and left no mark on the leather. The mate also has a nice large and flat base, so ive never had an issue with tipping or rocking. The wind once blew this mate off my counter onto the tile floor, but it was fine and has no cracks or damage, so it seems pretty sturdy too. I may have just gotten lucky with mine, but overall it's a good quality mate.The bombilla that came with it is one of those coil-ended bombillas. I haven't used it yet, because I just use my old one, but it seems to be standard quality.

I WAS AFRAID TO ORDER A GOURD ON LINE, DIDN'T THINK IT WAS GOING TO BE WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT..WELL, IT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WHANT IT. IT'S A GOOD SIZE GOURD, FEELS GOOD TO THE TOUCH AND MAKES GREAT MATE. :)

only thing that i had a problem with is with the leather, i can smell it as i drink out of it, and it almost seems as if i can taste the leather as well

It seemed rather small, but maybe that's how they are? the straw seemed Ok but i was concerned about metal qualityIn the end, the gourd leaked, but i returned, and got my refund

I love mate tea. This is a pretty solid gourd

This is a nice combo of Gourd and tea plus bombilla,(straw) instructions were quite good and easy to follow,was an all together enjoyable experience
