Excellent value for the price.
Excellent value for the price. I purchased mine to replace an old Craftsman unit that died after about 10 years of use. Time will tell if the Campbell Hausfeld 120 Volt inflator is just as durable. My initial test was to add about 2 pounds of air to all 4 tires on my passenger car. The unit worked well and added the required air pressure very quickly. The accuracy of the built-in gauge is off by about 8 to 10%. It indicates a higher pressure that what is actually in the tires. Once you know this, you can simply add on the necessary percentage to compensate for the difference. Digital tire gauges are inexpensive. Buy one and keep it with this compressor. You should always re-check your tire pressure with a known accurate tire gauge. The 120 volt line cord is very long and everything stores nicely on the unit. It's a little noisy, but that's normal for this type of compressor. So far, so good. If this Campbell Hausfeld proves to be durable, then it's the best price value 120 volt unit currently available on Amazon..

This is a Great Buy!
This works great. The electrical cord is nice and long. The air hose is nice and long and secures quickly, easily, and securely to my scooter' valve stem. it inflated the tire in less than five minutes with no loss of air pressure when I connected or disconnected. This was a great buy. This definitely much faster than the air hoses at the gas station; they always seem to be broken. It's so quick and easy to use, I had to let some air out because I overinflated by 10 psi. The gauge on it is not very precise, but I haven't found one that is. Any $0.99 tire pressure gauge is accurate.

Slow, loud. but it works and saves effort
Very old Campbell-Hausfeld air pump of the same size and also 120 VAC finally died. Appears that the connection between the motor and pump broke. The new pump is also loud - but we all use ear-muffs, don't we? Major change is that the new model has a rod on top to grip (which is nice) a fuse, and the air hose is expected to be kept in a compartment under gauge. The old model provided for wrapping both the power cord and the air hose around the housing. I found it improbable to store air hose as expected. The cover on the cavity where it is expected to store the air hose has been relegated to a bag as no provision exists to keep it with the pump. The gauge has fewer ticks than the gauge on the old model. However, after a couple of iterations, one can know the target setting. The new pump does not supply as much air as the old model - at first, I thought the new model was broken because of the slowness with which it added air to a car tire. The power cord is of good quality and desirably long.

So Far it's been great
So far I haven't used it for my cars tires but it works great on filling up my high pressure bicycle tires. I purchased this after my frustration of looking for an air pressure (inflator) that worked. My tire pressure warning lite came on and sure enough after checking one was low. In fact, all my tires were under according to my Ford Label inside the front driver door but one was lower than the other 3.First tire inflator machine hose had scummy ectoplasm on it. Next machine was out of order. I thought that the car wash would have one...I was wrong. Finally found an inflator that worked. Lucky I had some quarters. It took 5 of them. The hose was REALLY HARD to pull out and kept wanting to withdraw back into the compressor machine. I was able to fill up 2 tires and.....STOP. Needed 5 more quarters to fill the other 2 up.This machine is fast, and powerful. It filled a high pressure bike tires to 85 LBS PSI in seconds. Not thirty pumps with a manual tire inflator. I'll keep you posted on the quality and how it is when I use it on a car. I'm thinking about draining the air out of one of my wife's tires........JUST KIDDING!.But serious I have small DC operated air inflator's that take minutes to fill a childs toy let alone a car or bicycle tire.

Great for bicycles
The pump's sole purpose in my house is airing up bicycle tires: two mountain bikes and two road bikes, up to 120 psi. It has performed flawlessly so far. It's not really loud as air pumps go, not nearly as loud as the inexpensive compressors that plug into your car for example. It seems to be solidly constructed - there are no odd rattles or vibrations, just smooth sounding compressor. The hose and nozzle isn't going to fall apart. One feature I do miss is a dial for automatic pressure cut-off. It doesn't have that, and you have to watch the pressure dial. But as quickly as it fills up tires, and inside where there's light, that lack isn't really any hardship.Update: after 2 years of frequent use it still works as well as when new and I wouldn't change a word of this review.

Worked for maybe 20 min total
Not too many plug-in compressors like this on the market today and I didn’t want a pancake or pressure vessel style, so having instant air when I need it in this compact design is good.I used this sparingly and for short amounts of time, but once I had some actual time to fill all four tires of a car, the fuse blew in only a couple of minutes…so now I have to buy a new fuse, which they don’t sell in one or two, but in ten packs. So I wait for that to come in and literally within seconds of replacing it and turning it on, the fuse blows again. I tried a different fuse and the inflator worked for three tires and I thought I was in the clear. On the forth tire, I could hear a significant noise change in the compressor, as if it was slowing down and almost as if it was choking up. Well it was…Because there was smoke coming out of it! I let it cool down completely and tried the last tire once again. It never got to it’s original speed again and eventually blew another fuse. Once I replaced that again, it completely failed and had even more smoke coming out of it. It literally says on the side of it “Campbell Hausfeld Built To Last”. Very disappointed with this inflator. If you buy it, make sure you have to use it to the point of failure within the return window because mine was outside of the return window since that’s what I get for being responsible in my maintenance.
