Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil Gun Stock Finish 8 oz Liquid

Works great on restoring a walnut civil war rifle stock. Good the shine I was going for. The more coats the higher the shine so I could judge after a few coats just when to stop applying.

First time using Tru Oil. I absolutely love it. It produced the exact finish on walnut that I wanted.

Bought for a guitar kit, as I didn't want as shiny of a finish as most guitars, and to be able to control the sheen with how many coats I wanted. I couldn't be happier with what I got.

Like many reviewers here, I use this on ukulele and guitar necks. It takes a lot of coats but can be buffed to a very smooth finish (after being allowed to dry thoroughly). Plus, it enhances the wood and is simple to apply. Just don't slop it on. 14 thin coats are much better than two thick ones. I have also used it on bodies. It leaves a very nice finish but takes so long that I have moved away from it.

Very good oil for gun stock, it also works great in the maple neck on my bass guitar
