An interesting new dart
The new Nerf Elite mega darts are a scaled up version of the elite/streamline dart style. They have two slits in the head that cause a whistling sound when moving at high enough speed, though unlike whistle darts which sound very clearly just after leaving the blaster, Elite Mega darts will remain silent until they have traveled a few feet - this means that at low ranges/indoors you are not likely to ever hear them. The dart is approximately the size of an adult finger, the shaft color reminds me of fruit punch, and the head is a pale orange (lighter color than Elite darts). This dart is 94mm long, with an external diameter of 19.3mm, and an internal diameter of 12mm. This means an Elite dart can fit entirely within the shaft of an Elite Mega dart, however this is NOT RECOMMENDED. The secondary tube of the Centurion is very snug around the mega darts, this means a great air seal, but it also means a dart that has been even minorly stretched will not be able to enter the tube when the blaster is primed. Inserting an Elite/Streamline dart into the Mega dart will stretch it and make it difficult/impossible to fire - so don't do it.Experimentation has shown that with the Elite dart inside, the mega dart can be squeezed into the tube by force, and can be fired (with the Elite dart inside), though this damages the Mega dart considerably, and dose not appear to improve range in any way. This is not possible with Streamline darts, as their long internal stem prevents them from being inserted fully. This dart is not compatible with older Mega dart blasters, as it is actually thicker than previous versions. At the time of writing this dart is only compatible with the Elite Mega Centurion. Though the carton says more Mega blasters will be coming spring of 2014.

Work great!
These fit the N-Strike Mega perfect. We scored one at the thrift store so we’re glad to find these compatible darts!

Decent, but I'd hoped for better
I've only used these with the Magnus. The darts are ok. Like pretty much all Nerf products they overstate how far these can go. "Up to 85 feet" translates to about 30 feet with accuracy going out the window after 10. I have enough Nerf guns to expect this, so I wasn't really let down. The big issue I have is that they don't whistle at all. Maybe they do with the Centurian, but I can't get them to make a sound with the Magnus, inside or out. This is a big disappointment for me as I really like the idea of darts whistling during a battle. I would also note that these are really for big kids, college kids and older. I wouldn't get this for a couple 5 year olds because of the size (at least twice that of a standard Elite dart) and they do come out of the gun with some fairly impressive force. At point blank it could probably leave a mark. One thing Nerf has done well though is the coloring. Finally a dart I can actually find after firing! Not a green zombie dart that gets lost in the grass, a green-ish Vortex disc, or even the dark blue and orange Elite darts that can be tricky to locate after a backyard battle.Update: Now that I have used the Magnus more I can say that the darts do, in fact, whistle. It just takes a whole lot of distance and it is much fainter than I would have hoped. They also have a tendency to get crushed and deformed when reloading, which is unfortunate because they are basically a dollar a dart. Still, I definitely like them much better than I initially felt and have moved my stars up from 3 to 4.

Whistle While You Work
They fit (as expected) in the Nerf Centurion just fine and traveled a good 60 ft.They whistle for the majority of their flight which is nice. While they're new and firm, they fire more accurately but as they get worn down (they smash a little when in the clip) they travel less and their accuracy is less consistent.Regardless, they're still fun to shoot at coworkers.

Replacement darts are a must for this gun!!
These darts worked great with the guns which call for this large over-sized bullet. I was very happy with the price, and the shipping was great (no dents/dings/tears in the packaging). I will definitely order these again when it's time for more. If you own a gun which uses these, there are a few design flaws, so expect to chew through these bullets, especially if it's a younger kid who can't quite get the gun fully cocked (then the bullets jam and get chewed up).

They fell apart instantly
My son was gifted a nerf gun that only takes these specific bullets that I haven't been able to find in store. I ordered these and they were completely dried out and were flaking apart while trying to load them into the toy.
