Why does my battery only last one day. Please help, disabled lady. Thank you.

I put mine on charge every day which I don't see as a problem. It must have a very small battery so this is probably the reason.

Does the s1700 also have built in saftey?

well, yes , really, you have to hold the press switch in for a few seconds,to trigger the electronic flame, its not meant to be a long use flame, like, for pipes, it would not be suitable or carry enough charge for long enough. cap shuts down all off nice and neatly. I wouldn't put finger in the plasma type electronic flame for obvious reasons. In comparison with real flame lighters, this one is quite safe, and only takes an hour to charge. hope that helps.

How many volts and amps do they arcs have?

You need to check website..this lighter is charged by usb..so amps or voltage would be the same as a phone charger...
