Clovelly Soap Co Natural Handmade Pink Grapefruit Shampoo Soap Bar for Normal-oily Hair & Scalp 100g

I used this product as a shampoo bar. I’d been looking in to swapping to shampoo bars for a little while as my hair is naturally fine and flat and on top of that I have a sensitive scalp, so I can’t use too many products to help with volume etc. I’m really glad I tried this shampoo bar! It’s sensitive on my scalp, smells delicious, and (after the transition period of a few weeks, which I had expected before hand!) leaves my hair looking great. I also seem to have more volume once I dry my hair, plus I seem to be able to dry it quicker (not sure if that’s related). Would highly recommend using the apple cider vinegar rinse spray that is recommended with the shampoo bar is used. This definitely seems to take away the waxy squeaky feeling that you first get when you wash your hair with the soap, plus when brushing your hair it appears to help with detangling. Feels just the same as if I’d conditioned my hair. I used mine with a few drops of essential oil in to help neutralise the smell a little, which it certainly does, and you can’t smell the vinegar at all once rinsed out with water. All in all I’d absolutely recommend trying shampoo bars, and in particular this one. Well worth the money! I’m converted!

Love this product it’s worth hanging in there if you can cope with the transition period. Mine took 4-5 weeks. Ok so I’ve been using this shampoo bar for 3 days, previously using the eucalyptus and lemon one, and at first it was hard work as it seemed to leave my hair claggy, greasy and dirty. Even after using ACV rinse. I contacted The Clovely Soap Company directly for some advice and they suggested the grapefruit soap as I’m in a moderately soft water area. The results were moderately better but not perfect yet. Contacted them again and they suggested using distilled vinegar instead of ACV. I did this and my hair was perfect soft and shiny. The key is don’t use too much to get a lather and rinse really well, and use the vinegar as a rinse afterwards and rub in well. Completely love this product

The scent is subtle but lovely , lather up nicely for a natural product. I use it for my hair and tried it to shave my legs (works fine for it) . As a shampoo : I must still be on the transition period because my hair constantly keep the residue of the soap, while air drying, my hands are left a bit greasy, and my root is coated by soap despite not putting much and rinsing it well (I don't want to use vinegar to rinse it as it is not the point ) . Give my fine hair a bit of texture but it doesn't look great on first day... Actually look a bit better next day as it is kinda drying the root ... Hopefully my hair will feel and look clean soon because it is a bit disappointing and I love the idea of using a soap for my hair. I will Modify my review as soon as the result change. If no change, I will add it to the review too and will use the soap for body instead of hair ... I edit my review : that is it I give I can't stand any longer the transition period, greasy hair straight away from wash it...I have enough. But the soap is nice perfect to shap as it is lathering nicely. I will definitely buy the brand again

I bought this product fully expecting the transition from shampoo to shampoo bar to be hell, especially as the product description said it can leave hair feeling waxy until you get used to it, so I was thinking if they admit to this it's going to be an issue! However, I've used it three times as of now (washing my hair every few days) and my hair is looking great! I used their advice to use apple cider vinegar diluted with water as a conditioner to reduce the waxy feeling and, although my hair feels waxy when wet, when dry it feels completely normal! On my first use I messed up and used way to much (I got bored of rubbing the bar between my hands and transferring to my hair as I have waist length hair!) I kept rubbing the bar on my head trying to get the same lather you would from a bottled shampoo and ended up with a load of bits of soap in my hair! However this is my fault not the product's. I do still use the bar like this, rubbing on my hair not in my hands, as my hair is so long and thick but I know how long to do this for now! Overall a great product and such a painless step in using less plastic. My only qualm is that the scent isn't strong enough for my liking, over it does still smell lovely.

I love my new shampoo bar! Reduced plastic, great soap and works well! I have no issue with the product however WHY send a product that many people buy for the plastic free option in a plastic non-recyclable envelope!! So disappointed in amazon get with the times!! We are supposed to be reducing plastic waste not increasing it!

This is the best shampoo bar I have tried so far (and i've tried quite a few). My hair feels clean, silky and there's no sign of it's usual frizz. Fantastic for camping as I didn't have to pack shower gel too. I will be reordering.

Everything about this is great when used as a usual soap. It smells nice, feels clean, large, pretty, lovely wrapping and eco. But after 5 washes, it just doesn't wash my hair. It creates a slick layer over my hair, which feels revolting. The kind where you want to wash your hair immediately. I don't know what causes this because the 'transition phase' is a nonsense. I've been using shampoo bars (about 10 brands tried now) for 18 months and I didn't have a transition for any others. I appreciate the company recommendation is to use vinegar, but I don't want to as I clean my hair in the shower. I've used much better.... But I enjoy trying new brands as there's loads out there these days. Eco warrior and lush are brilliant examples. Save this for a body soap...as perfect for that!
