Make sure to update the firmware first. This pretty much goes for any Uniquiti products. Don't bridge the network or this unit really slows down. So in reality, if you only have (1) network, 0 is disabled, eth1 is WAN and eth2-4 are your network. Hooked up 2 LAN with POE out to Ubiquiti AP's and the other LAN to a switch.

PoEモデルは48VのACアダプタを採用しているのでACアダプタが故障してしまうと簡単な対処方法はない。というのは48Vという電圧は安全規制の関係で微妙な立場にあり、外国製品でしか採用されないような規格だからである。なので保守性が良いことを狙うなら12Vを受電する規格で設計されている3ポート版のER-Liteを選ぶべきである。GUIは見栄えが良くマニア心を刺激してくれるが、GUIで表示される項目が何がどう反映しどう機能するのかがわかりづらいのがルータ製品の常であり、私はGUIを使用していない。このようなものはコマンドラインで運用するのが基本である。Juniper SRXを触ったことにある玄人ならコマンドラインでも馴染めるだろうし、むしろコマンドラインで運用したいだろう。Juniper SRXとは少し違うところがある。たとえばrename命令はedit命令で編集範囲を事前に絞り込まないと機能しない。このあたりはVyattaからの引継ぎだと思われるので詳しくは参考書を探すことをお勧めする。本品はIPv4限定で運用するならひととりの機能を満たし、実用域を確保しているように思われる。しかしファームウェアが絶賛開発途上であり、ファームウェアの改良を待つことを楽しみとしないのであれば、あまりお勧めはしない。使用した感じではとにかくIPv6対応まわりの設計の詰めが甘い。最新ファームウェアでもIPsec VPNの実用が得られそうな設定を探すことに骨が折れるというか、手元でもIPsec VPNの確立を完了できていない。思ったようにはIPsec VPNを構成できないと想定するべきである。IPsec VPNを構成するのにGREを挟むことが必要だとか、嫌ならSITを使えとか、公式情報を眺める限りどうにも煩わしい。NTTフレッツ回線でVPNを構成するときにちょっとした困難を感じるだろうから、IPv6を前提としたアクセスラインで使うときは運用開始までに手間がかかることを覚悟するべきだ。メーカサイトにおいてファームウェアとしてバージョン1.xとバージョン2.xの双方が公開されている。これには意味があり、バージョン2.xにアップグレードするときはまずバージョン1.x系統の最新版をインストール・有効化しなければならない。これを守ればWeb GUIからファームウェアを問題なく2.x系統の最新版に更新できるはず、と思う。恐らくER-Liteも同様だろう。ファームウェア更新機能それ自体に更新が必要になることは他社品でもしばしばあることなので、そこに苦情を述べることはしないこととする。

Was trying to replace a consumer-grade router with a Ubiquiti product. Heard nothing but good things.Two things slowed me down:1. The need to do networking gymnastics to update to latest firmware2. The unclear implementation whereby Eth1 behaves very differently than Eth2-4.I had assumed that the ports other than port eth0 would be switched like every other router I've ever encountered. That is not the case with this product. If you want hardware switching between ports you must ignore Eth1 and simply use Eth2-4. If I had known this at the beginning it would have saved me hours of work.For someone looking for a more solid replacement for the consumer-grade routers, it would make sense for one of the "wizards" to simply mention this as appropriate. The "simple" setup defaults to Eth1 which I can't imagine anyone wanting because it disallows hardware switching with all of the other ports. If you only need one port then this is fine, but why get a 5-port POE device in that case?Gorgeous management software. Too bad it is utterly unaware of the Ubiquti in-wall WiFi AP I also installed. That would have been a bonus, but they are apparently targeting different market segments and thus require entirely distinct management stacks.

Up and running on Google fiber, hard to tell if this will fix the network issues I was having, install was not straight forward but doable thanks to Steve Jenkins help, he has a great post and documents to assist. Controls are complex and will not be easily utilized by the average home user. But seems to be a great replacement for the Google network box.

It worked good while it lasted. However, after a routine firmware upgrade it became completely unresponsive. Search online and you will see that this is a common issue. After you upload a new Ubiquiti firmware the router reboots and refuses all attempts to connect and all attempts to reset (yes, hard, soft, power, etc I tried them all). The only things one can do now is opening it up and flush the onboard chip with special hardware and lots of Linux know how. Really really disappointed. Lost my network for several days, lost the money on the purchase on this POS, and lost lots fo time trying to troubleshoot it.
