Good
This was really good in some aspects but super frustrating in others. I didn’t like Jaxson after he got back from Germany. He’s possessive in an annoying almost scary way. Cusses and yells at Julia and his friends and has no self control for being a military man.One particular part that annoyed me was when he went into the police station to see Cooper and “entertains” the idea of sex with the receptionist before deciding no because she’s not Julia.I mean, seriously?! Made me lose complete respect for the character and kind made my like for the book go down. It’s hard to want someone to have a HEA when you don’t like them. Also the freak out he has when she shares her shocking news. He’s no better than Wyatt here.

AH-MAZING DEBUT! I'M HOOKED! ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOKS AND SERIES
This is pretty much your typical bad boy meets good girl story but it was filled with excitement, lust, passion, suspense…and eventually love. Julia has been in love with Jaxson since she was seventeen years old and knows beyond anything that Jaxson is the one for her but Jaxson believes he is incapable of love. All people do is judge him from where he came from and it’s starting to affect Julia. She is the one good thing that he has in his life and he can’t taint her with his life anymore. He can’t stand the thought of her getting judged or hurt because of him so he makes plans for a new life, one away from her. The night before Jaxson is set to leave town Julia tells him her feelings and he can’t handle it. He doesn’t know how to react. He cares for Julia more than he has ever cared for anyone but he can’t love her and now the beautiful and strong bond they have formed over the years is strained. They promise to always be friends and be in each other’s lives but over the years their bond is put to test. Julia still holds out hope that Jaxson will one day be able to return her feelings and return home for her.One horrific event and one final rejection from Jaxson has Julia reevaluating her life. She can no longer hold onto the hope of a future with a man who obviously doesn’t feel the same for. She was born a lover and doesn’t want to be alone forever so she starts dating again.Jaxson knows he has screwed up by pushing Julia away but he did what he had to do and now that he is able to return home all he wants to do is set things straight with her. He needs her friendship more than the anything and will do whatever it takes win her back. He gets advice from many but the most important person in Julia’s life--her grandma. She believes in Jaxson and gives already considers him a grandson. But her new ‘boyfriend’ has other plans-dangerous ones. He believes Julia is now his and there is no way he is going to allow Jaxson to have her, even if it means hurting her or anyone who stands in his way of having her. Jaxson and Julia, even through hard times, are playful and passionate towards each other. Everyone can see the love they have for each other, well everyone except Jaxson. He doesn’t love her, or doesn’t think he does but he is not about to let anyone else have her either. The thought alone just drives him insane. She is his, always has been and always will be. But a crazy ex, nightmares of past tragedies, and self-doubt are all standing in their way of happiness. Eventually the pressures of his life are too much and Jaxson just can’t handle it anymore so he does the one thing he does…he leaves. But just like when they first met, another terrifying set of events has them finding their way back to each other and has Jaxson realizing what he has to lose. He will do anything to protect what’s his and he doesn’t care of the consequences. This story kind of started out slow but then kept at a steady pace until about the last thirty percent. Then things really started to get interesting. I couldn’t put it down after that. I think this was a great story for a debut. I loved the dual povs, they were written in a way where it didn’t feel like you were rereading part of the story just to get the alternate pov. This was a beautiful story of friendship and love fueled by passion. I loved Jaxson and Julia but I also loved all the supporting characters. Kayla, Cooper, Sawyer, and Cade are all amazing and feel like one big family. Sawyer was funny and I loved his playfulness and attitude. He gets the next book in the series and I’m excited to see more of him and Grace.

FAVORITE SERIES EVER!!!
I highly, highly (like, the highest) recommend this series. As in...I think you should buy it now. You won't be disappointed at all, it's that amazing. As someone who reads around 10 romance books a week, I can honestly say KC Lynn has become my favorite author. I first read this series back in November and have since read and re-read all of KC Lynn's books a bunch...like definitely more than 10 times. Now for my review (and trying not to give everything away). ;)The first book is about Jaxson and Julia, who are best friends in high school. She falls for him but he's trying to keep it in the friend zone to protect her (boys can be so lame). Flash forward a bit and he's hurt on a mission as a SEAL and refuses to see her, so she basically decides it's not worth being hurt anymore and cuts him out of her life. He comes back to town about a year later...and this, my friends, is where all the magic happens. Their love story and how it unfolds is just amazing. The second book is about Sawyer and Grace, Jaxson's SEAL team member and Julia's friend. Sawyer...well...Sawyer has a huge ego, like ginormous. And Grace is sweet, young and obvious to her charm. So this story finds Sawyer protecting Grace from her past (a really bad situation and so terribly sad) and falling in love with her through it all. Some of this things he says will literally make you gasp in outrage (as I said, his big ego is insane) and others will make you cry cuz you're laughing out loud (literally) so hard. But he ends up being so sweet and hilarious, and Grace comes into her own in learning how to handle this "charming bugger". This story is probably my favorite of all her books. The third story is about Cade (Jaxson and Sawyer's other SEAL team member) and Faith (the girl all three boys got hurt trying to save on a mission). Wow...this story is amazing. It will have you feeling every emotion and crying so much (pretty sure I sobbed the first time I read it and every time I still tear up). It's a tough story and deals with a lot of big issues that this couple learns to overcome (although not easily). They end up trying to help helping out two kids (who are going to get their own book one day) who are impossible not to fall in love with. In the end though, they get their hard and most fought for HEA. It's inspiring. The last story is a novella about Cooper and Kayla (I seriously had to force myself to not read ahead on this one cuz Kayla is awesome in the previous books). It's her wedding day and she tells the girls her love story. The book flashed back to high school and shows how this awesome couple fell in love. Kayla is hilarious in this series, as she loves pushing Coop's buttons, and this story shows it's always been that way and how it makes their relationship work.KC has this astounding ability to write books in a way that's real, real people saying real, believable things and the humor...oh man...I seriously crack up a ton in every book. But also...she writes extremely sad scenes that will literally steal your breath and make you cry and amazing love scenes that will steal your heart. She sucks you into the story so you feel like you're there watching it happen. I mean, all romance books play like a movie in my head when I'm reading but I've never read any before that made me that immersed in the story and feel that present in what's going on. If you haven't read her yet, buy one and you'll see...you'll be hooked an instant fan for life too.

Great read
While on the whole I lived this friends to lovers story, there was just a niggle that makes this type of book frustrating. While I love the I'm not good enough for her/him angst, and the heart to heart that this leads up to, what frustrates me is when he/she feels the need to flaunt all their "conquests" in front if said friend, then proclaim.that they meant "nothing". It's just disrespectful to everyone, and makes me very distrustful of the person.Apart from that, really good read.

He feels he's not good enough for her and refuses to drag her down ...
One of my fave books ever!!I wasn't reviewing when i read this so I'm coming back to write it after numerous re-reads.This is the first in the Men of Honor series.Jax and Julia met at a young age when Jax saves Julia from an assault. Julia falls for him but Jax keeps her at arms length. He feels he's not good enough for her and refuses to drag her down with him. The whole town knows he's bad news and he carries the burden of his fathers sins. Julia see's through that and becomes best friends with him even though she loves him. As they grow up Jax still refuses to drag her down and eventually enlists to join the Navy Seals. He leaves Julia behind believing it's for the best. Over the years they still stay in touch until whilst on tour Jax gets into trouble.I don't want to say too much more because i could ramble on about the whole story for pages and pages and spoil it completely for you.I fell instantly in love with this book. My heart went out to both of them. Jax because he feel's he's not good enough for Jules when he is clearly the best thing that could happen to her. I often felt like shaking some sense into him when he refused to give in to his feelings. Jules is so patient with him her heart knows he's the one but Jax just keeps pushing her away. But she has a quiet strength that keeps her patience with him which i loved!!There's lots of twists and turns along the way but the overall feel is one of true love. Love conquers all!! Just so heart warming this book has all the feels!! The writing for a first book for me is amazing. The plot is a real page turner. The love scenes are smoking and highly enjoyable!! I mean seriously... phewwwwwwww. I didn't put it down and when the end came i felt like hugging the kindle to my chest. I LOVED IT!!!.The supporting characters who have their own books too are just as equally brilliant as these two. I love them all it's just one great big amazing sexy as sin, honorable family who would each die to protect the others.I highly... i'll say again... HIGHLY recommend this book. It has everything that you could possibly need for a quiet evening at home getting lost in this amazing story.

A FRIENDS TO LOVERS ROMANCE WITH LOTS OF COMPLICATIONS. LOVED IT!
Oh I do love a best friends to lovers romance.I've had fighting temptation on my kindle for such a loooong loooong time and it was just the book to get me out of a book funk.Jax is the kind of guy alI the girls drool over in school, he's a bit of a man-whore and he has that bad boy vibe.Jaxson's father has given his family a bad reputation and it's like Jaxson just lives up to everyone's expectations of him, he's closed off and doesn't let anyone in especially the judgemental people in his town.Jules and Jax meet officially when Jules visits her mother's grave late at night just wanting to spend time with her, her loss still hurts and she misses her mum, so after climbing from the window of the home she now lives in with her Gram's she goes to the cemeteryJules puts herself in danger being in a secluded place late at night and is attacked, Jax hears screams while walking by and rescues Jules who is nearly a rape victim.Jax becomes her protector and best friend from that night.Jax never feels worthy enough for Jules and although Jules is in love with Jaxon nothing further develops from friendship.I loved the journey in this book, Jax leaves for the Navy wanting to get out of a town that drags him down and Jules doesn't hear from him for years despite her efforts to contact him then following an incident were Jax is hurt badly he refuses to see her.Jax infuriated me, got me annoyed and angry for the way he treated Jules at times but he was also a sexy possessive A-hole you can't help but love. And Jules? well she frustrated me to with how forgiving she was over and over, I mean, let the guy suffer in guilt for a bit before you throw yourself at him but I suppose Jax was just that guy who was to hard to resist. This is a story were hero saves heroine and heroine saves him right back. A love that is destined to be but has an a-hole alpha that is to stubborn to fall in love through fear that there could be a part of him like his father.A great story and journey through the years of Jax & Jules which had everything that has the emotions up and down, hot sex scenes, a possessive alpha, Jax's hot friends, doting likeable girlfriends for Jules, danger, kidnapping, angst and humour, yep it has it all, I loved It!I would never have guessed this was a debut book it's so well written and I am looking forward to more from KC Lynn, if this is her first her current writing must be awesome.fighting temptation leads to hea and is told in first person dual pov.Currently free on Amazon.

SARAH-LOU'S BOOK REVIEW BLOG REVIEW - x
REVIEW 4.5 STARS * * * * .This is a friends to lovers second chance kind of love story. Jaxson and Julia are complete opposites and no one expected them to be friends but one frightful night brought them together, starting their unlikely, frowned upon, friendship."She thinks I don't know about the s*** she gets from people in this town for being friends with me, but I do.."Jaxson has a past that causes insecurities that makes him question his worth for his friendship with sweet Julia Sinclair. Both Jaxson and Julia have an attraction to eachother but not wanting to jeopardize their friendship they ignore it - that is until Jaxson reveals that he is joining the military to train to become a navy seal and everything changes.Jaxson is all alpha - my favourite! He of course, thinks he's doing the right thing sends the girl that loves him away. Years later he wants to fix his friendship so he does *Scoffs*. As if. Julia pushed him and waited for him for as long as she could but no more she wasn't going to wait for something that just wasn't going to happen."You have no say in anything I do in my life. Not anymore. So you can take your arrogant a$$ and get out of my house"This book is the first in the Men Of Honor series and started my love for KC Lynn. Jax is the ultimate alpha - seriously he is. You root for him and Julia - being a second chance romance and all. Apart from the main characters - I freaking love Kayla - seriously she is hilarious, try not to smile when reading her parts, you can't not love her. You've got these two characters that are meant to be but have a past and their own personal obstacles to get over along with unwanted attention from a third party causes more problems. A hot alpha his sassy woman with right amount of sarcastic banter, hotness and angst you'll love this and will automatically one-click the next three books in the series.
