Protect Life Children Masks

One of the pictures describing this product claims it removes 95% of airborne particles, which would lead one to believe that it is N95 rated. This item is actually rated PM2.5, which means that it is rated to remove particles 2.5 micron or larger. N95 specs states that the mask is supposed to remove at least 95% of airborne particles 0.3 micron or larger. Since I wanted to get N95 masks for my kids because of smoke from nearby wild fires, these masks are not really suitable for that purpose. I am going to return them and keep looking the the appropriate masks.

The reviews are misleading as the older reviews appear to be for a completely different product based on the picture. These masks do not have a nose bridge first of all. Secondly, they are thin like tissue paper and certainly not made of even a single layer of melt blown fabric, let alone three. They are also too big for children aged five and below. The fit is also poor. They look very cute, but that's pretty much it. Very disappointed.

The product is completely misleading. I was under the impression that it would be better than a three ply disposable mask for kids. Instead, you can blow air out and feel it on the other side... didn’t have a match handy, but I’m sure it would blow it out. This “ 2.5 “ mask would be great if you used two together. Not in anyway as expected. Unless mine was defective. In terms of comfort, my kid liked it. But for a thicker and as close to a kids version of an n95, this is not.

These face masks are good for kids to make sure their smaller faces have more air tight coverage. Otherwise it will be easy for pollutants or viruses to sneak through the gaps from adult face masks! Cuter design too that most adult face masks.

Several of these masks arrived with a gap in the seam over the nose. Any intact masks we’ve tried have had the seam split in a few moments of wearing despite being a loose fit on my 3yo child. There’s no nose wire, just a stitched area looking like one and you can feel your child’s breath with your hand near the outside of this very very thin flimsy mask.

These are perfect for the dust we have in our house while we were sanding. Even though our daughter isnt near us when we sand, she can wear this when she does happen to come down stairs with the dust in the air. Perfect for young kids. A little big for toddlers but you can just cut the string and tie it tighter. These are strong and sturdy.

My 4 year old hates these. They don’t stay on even if I adjust the ear loops. It is super thin, one sneeze and it’s like toilet paper. There is no wire in the nose piece so it constantly falls. They are soft, but a waste.
