My son called me and explained that his HVAC system was not cooling. I suspected it could be from a failed motor starting capacitor. I took several spares that I had, removed the capacitor in his HVAC unit and matched it to one of my spares. Once the correct capacitor was swapped out, the unit ran great. This capacitor purchase was a replacement to the one that I just used to fix my son's HVAC unit.

My compressor works again. This is the start capacitor.

The packaging for this item does not protect it during shipping. Make sure to check the diameter/width in the fine print. The measurements are listed in cm instead of inches and the size is easy to overlook. This 70/5 campacitor is on the skinny side in comparison to most others. Quality is definitely not here which is a shame because I wanted to like this. I did check this unit with a multimeter and it was holding the 70/5 rating which was a positive.
