Walking Genesis: In The Beginning. A Messianic Jewish Devotional Commentary. For Readers of the Torah, Haftarah, and B'rit Chaadashah

I have always had many questions about the stories in Torah and particularly in Genesis but never made the connections that Mr Feinberg has made. I would encourage anyone who wants a better understanding in the scriptures too consider his books. I have since purchased the rest of his series and anxious to better understand the mysteries of scripture.

A Good resource as you study the Weekly Torah Parashat Readings

The 3 stars aren't for the book per se, but only for the Kindle edition. Heavily formatted books don't usually fare well on Kindle (as I know from my own novel), and alas this handy series is no exception. Part of the content is simply chopped off, at least on iPhones, regardless of orientation (portrait or landscape -- holding the screen vertical or horizontal). No way to refund Kindle purchases either.In effect I just paid for a demo. It's a nice demo -- I'll invest in the printed series someday. But buyer, beware.

I now have this whole series (five books). If you are interested in a quick semi-devotional commentary on the Torah - this is great. If you are studying any of the Pent. books I recommend this set to augment any other commentaries you may be using. J. Feinberg also offers rabbinic commentary, so you get some insight into how the older rabbis interpreted passages from a purely Jewish perspective. It is also a mini-Hebrew course, so if you have studied Hebrew there are some great little "Hebrew Lessons" in the beginning of each chapter. I really love this set.

I have been a student of the Bible for over 40 years but have learned a lot in just the first week of readings! I love the wisdom from a messianic Jewish perspective and find it to be very enlightening. I'm sure I'll be ordering the other books in this series.

Don't let the Hebrew writting scare you off. The original Bible was written by Hebrews and Jesus was a Hebrew. I love this book for teaching me to think the way the writers thought. If we try to read an ancient book with todays mindset, we miss sooo much it has to teach us. The Bible is rich in culture. get this book and understand your Bible better!

Wow, this is awesome. A great devotional. A great study guide. Questions that really make you think; not your ordinary "discussion" questions where everybody immediately knows the answer. Depth, accuracy, insight and interesting. What more could you ask?

It is a good introduction to the Hebrew language
