Just Ordered, but I Have a Question
I LOVED the Osmonds Live 1972 even though I was only 8 when it came out. Our family took us to see them in concert that year and I still have the fondest memories. My Facebook status got more positive reaction than I expected the other day as I posted that it is just as much fun to listen to the Osmonds at 48 as it was when I was 8 and I was shocked as I was expecting my friends to make fun of me!For years, I have been looking for Osmonds Live and this seems to be the best chance I have for finding it. My question is the version of "Sometimes I Feel LIke a Motherless Child/Where Can I Go But To The Lord" the same version on this Phase III CD as it was on the vinyl album as I am way too excited to wait until this is delivered?Thank you and looking forward to more GREAT Osmond memories!

Takes me back, way back!
When I found out that Phase III was available on CD, I was beside myself.I hadn't listened to it in ages.I foolishly gave all of my vinyls away years ago.I punched that baby into the cd player in my car and was immediately transported back to my bedroom, 12 years old, rocking to the Osmonds!I'd have to say that the song that defines Phase III is "He's The Light of The World". It's such a strong recording.A great beat and an incredible message. As devoted Christians, these guys make no apologies for their beliefs and I applaud them!"In The Rest of my Life" is a truly beautiful love song.I found myself singing along as if over 30 years hadn't gone by. I remembered almost every word. The "Live" part of the cd is enjoyable. But I find myself playing Phase III over and and over.Gotta love the end of "Don't Panic".

Awesome deal for Osmond fans
I bought this CD for Phase III. I wore the album out and needed a replacement. However, I love the "Live" album, too. According to Donny in his autobiography, the Live album is really not completely live because the day it was recorded in Los Angeles, they were all very sick so the quality was awful. To make it better, they re-recorded the singing part it in the studio. Maybe that is why the quality is so good. Still a great album.

It's about time...
...these discs were reissued! These albums represent a musical transition for the Osmonds. I had not realized until I read the insert notes that Rick Hall and the Osmonds had split during the recording of Phase III (I thought the split had come afterward), but that explains the inclusion of songs like "My Drum", an underrated rocker which hints at the musical direction in which the boys were headed (the notes incorrectly credit Jay, not Merrill, as lead singer, and Jimmy, not Jay, as being co-writer, of "My Drum"). The brothers' desire to play rock'n'roll couldn't be more obvious than on Live; the precise, raucous muscianship exbibited on well-chosen, faithful covers of "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling", "Proud Mary/Free" and "We Gotta Live Together" might still catch some less-informed listeners by surprise. Donny's innocent angst on signature tunes such as "Puppy Love" and "Hey Girl" reveals a musical sensibility and depth too many unfairly wrote off as insubstantial teenybopper music. The boy knew what he was singing about, and it's no wonder the pre-teen girls swooned, because they knew what he was singing about too. Taken together, these albums clearly show a progression from the Osmonds/Homemade albums toward the more substantial rock/pop of Crazy Horses/The Plan, and they reflect the Brothers' increasing control over their music.I lost my original recording of Live years ago, but the song list on this reissue seems to match my memories of the original American release. The double-tracking mentioned by another reviewer is there, but it's not so obvious that it detracts from the music's listenability. Otherwise, the sound is very good, the notes informative (despite the mistakes listed above), and the packaging generally better than most previous reissues.

Phase III is a great album
Wow, Phase III has some great music. It came right before Crazy Horses and really didn't get the attention it deserves. There are a lot of songs featuring the drums, which I love! Favorites - Don't Panice, Business, My Drum, Int the Rest of My Live, A Shot of Rythem & Blues and of course, Down By The Lazy River. Don't really like Love Is, but overall really love the CD.Osmonds Live is a lot of fun. Lots of songs to sing along with - a great concert cd.

Osmonds Phase3/LIVE CD
I was SOOO THRILLED, after 50 years as an Osmond fan, to FINALLY find my old, favorite, scratchy Osmond albums now on CD! I have them in my car and listen to them often. These songs bring back so many WONDERFUL memories of my teen-age, growing up years! WONDERFUL to hear them so CLEARLY on CD's after all these years!

Great CD!
A classic and very inexpensive by comparison! I'd love to be able to get more classics like this one and I'd like to see a lot of movies get put on DVD because of the selling method! Thanks, Suzette!

The Osmonds Live December 1971
I had forgotten how wonderful the Osmond Brothers sounded live. This album on CD is a wonderful reminder of my growing up years and the positive influence this family was on me.
