A Touching Good-Bye: The Gentle Use of Jin Shin Jyutsu At Times of Critical Illness and Death

A good book for those interested in Jin Shin Jyutsu as it relates to illness and death.
As someone in their senior years with numerous medical issues I find myself seeking books and material on various Universal healing systems. After studying Reiki and completing the requirements for Reiki Master I began to send Reiki universal energy healing to friends and family. I have also studied numerous Japanese Martial and healing arts (Judo, Jujitsu, Karate-Do, Kenjutsu, and Reiki) for more than 50 years; however, I had never heard of the universal energy healing system of Jin Shin Jyutsu until recently. This is the second book I have read on (A touching Good-buy: The gentle use of Jin Shin Jyutsu by Judith B. Andry, M.Ed.) the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu. This 127 page softcover book is focused on those who are dying and were treated with the Jin Shin Jyutsu to ease the pain and transition from life to death. This book is organized into two parts with a total of eight chapters. Part one deals with various case histories the author has researched in treating them with Jin Shin Juyutsu. They include: Struggling with death, calming anger and fears, easing physical and emotional pain, hearing the need, and living with quality, grieving and transforming soul. Part two only has chapter 8 which explains (touching: the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu) how to use the basic principles of Jin Shin Jyutsu). If you are seeking a very thoughtful book on how to cope with serious illness and death in relation to the healing art of Jin Shin Jyutsu you should check out this book.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Chair/Seated Tai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga for seniors and the physically challenged).

For the Beginner at Jin Shin
I have done training once, and was hoping for some additional insights - and was mostly disappointed. I don't particularly resonate to the style of book with stories instead of systematic instruction. It feels like a high fluff to content ratio. But granted, this is a difficult topic to deal with. But for someone unfamiliar with Jin Shin, there is quite a bit. The diagrams in the back are very good.

for more than a good-bye
What a gift. The information in this little book is for use in our lives and others not just in times of critical illness or death. I have not had the opportunity to use it in those specific circumstances as yet but I am heartened to know of it's existence. Until such time of crises, I plan on practicing and experimenting with this process so beautifully described by Ms Andry. I am finding myself drawn to the techniques used here more and more for my everyday use. Such a simple thing: gently holding your thumb to relax when you are worried. Thank you so much for all your work to produce this lovely little book.

Unbelievable Book on the Power of Touch
I read this book after seeing Jin Shin Jyustsu performed on my terminally ill mother so I could do it tool The power of this kind of touching was transformational for my mother and all who used this practice of touching and calming to help her through the last stages of her life. I highly recommend it.

Will Help
This book was recommended at one of my Jin Shin Jyutsu trainings. I feel that it will certainly be another tool that I'll be able to use as a practitioner.

I highly recommend this book
As a Jin shin Jyutsu practitioner, I highly recommend this book. Ms. Andry has written this book beautifully and simply for caregivers. Jin shin Jyutsu is a healing art using gentle touch to provide comfort and peace to their loved ones at end of life and also bring energy and peace to the caregivers. As an RN and JSJ practitioner I have found JSJ to be of great comfort to those who are seriously Ill.

It's OK
My Mom, God rest her soul ... would tell us all to live in this world. Live life fully, laugh and enjoy this life. The book is OK, but I had to stop reading it so I could get up and get out of the house and live my life. It's OK, but just don't stay with it for too long... there is a whole lot of living to do.
