Pennington Fast Acting Lime Soil Amendment, 6 lb

So I just completely re-moved my old problem lawn by sod cutting it out myself DIY-style with a rented sod cutter tool.Then I prepared my lawn for new grass seeding. I followed all of Ryan Knorr grass install videos on YouTube. Then I planted and grew new grass in the spring into summer. Everything was great except that I had a few bare spots that were not growing in like the rest of the lawn. It took me a long time to figure out that THE LACK OF NEW SEED GROWING may be the result of a lawn that is out of pH balance. My lawn previously was a mixed disaster of Bermuda grass, Clumping Tall Fescue and Scott’s Tall Fescue.I figured my soil was out of pH balance in these areas and I treated them and the entire lawn with Lime.It’s the only thing that I can figure for the patchy new lawn growth.Am I pleased with this? Yes! I have 1,650 square feet out front so I ordered and put down two bags of lime. In about 10-20 days I should have my new seed taking off in those trouble spots.I have never gotten a soil test before but based off of what I had before last year I am sure my former lawn was out of whack.Southern California, Inland Empire, planted: Ryan Knorr Tall Fescue and Kentucky Blue Grass mix, with Yard Mastery Starter FertilizerThis lime application is great for my lawn and I’m hoping it’s the solution for my bare spots. Yes I would recommend, yes I would purchase again.

Granular product which is an ideal size for application with my fertilizer spreader. I applied it right before the snow & don't expect to see any result until Spring. I would like to see it available in a larger, more economical size. I previously purchased pulverized garden lime and it was a white powder, impossible to apply with a walk behind fertilizer spreader.

I was struggling to get the PH to the right level in one of my Hybiscus plants. Now that it's had a couple of applications with this stuff it isn't dropping as many leaves or buds. The flowers are beautiful again.

Product is good quality but three stars for bad packaging and deliver. Bag was ripped open and half of the contents were spilled into shipping bag. Even the shipping bag corner had a hole and granules were falling out when delivered. Not sure if bag had full quantity.

I had alot of brown patches after winter in MN finally left us for spring. I fertilized early spring, but did not seemuch results on the brown patches until I put down Penningtons. Probabably will do it again. The enitire lawn greened up right away!!
