100 Japanese Puzzles - Easy to Hard

Starting Help?
An excellent idea for this type of puzzle would be, as they generally do with Diagramless Crossword puzzles, would be to provide an optional "starting clue" indicating maybe where a strategic black square (or even blank area) is located, for each puzzle. These would be located separately from the puzzles, in the back of the book, after the answer section. Examples could be: "The 3-block in the rightmost column begins in the 8th square down", or "Five of the squares within the 12-block in the center row are located in the second five-by-five section of the puzzle", or "At least the first 6 squares of the 2 3 3 column near the left are empty", or the like. Would help immensely without "giving the whole puzzle away" especially for the 4-5 difficulty levels, serving as starters or a possible reference during doing the puzzle and hitting an apparent impasse. Would assist even the "easier" ranked puzzles, when there are some offering no definitive entry black-square areas, such as the one on page 19, rated 1-easy but was like 4-diff on me, sans "peeking" at a border row or column in the Answer Section. (Also Puzzle 05151 on the LOGI website as an example of a "bog-down" or becoming dead-ended by numbers that don't "reach". I don't know if it is included in any of the other books in the Series).LOGI does provide naming captions in the answer section, at least in this book, (I haven't yet seen others of the series). And contrary to other series of these "Hanjie" or "Logic Art" or "Griddler" puzzles I've recently encountered, the squares are large enough, divided in to the usual 5x5 sections for visibility, and the font used for the clue numbers is easily readable (i.e. wouldn't mistake a 6 for an 8, etc.). They also provide intermittent capsule samplings of other varieties of (their published Japanese) puzzles within the book, which double as advertisements.I would like to see LOGI/Ms. Marciniak (puzzler/publisher) offer something with so-called "Cross-a-Pix" puzzles. Similar to this Logic Art variety with clue numbers atop and down the left side, these have the grid broken into polyomino-shaped sections which are filled-in or left blank as units. There are two variations, single-clue, and double-clue (providing additional info about the relationships between the filled-in blocks in a row or column), and info about this puzzle variety can be found in the Conceptis Puzzles site, the only place I've seen anything about Cross-a-Pix.One other suggestion (the last, I promise!), one that other reviewers alluded to: Maybe a plastic-spiral binding for easier book handling while doing the puzzles, especially toward the center of the book. Quality of printed paper texture is excellent.

Such tiny squares
I really like the number of different puzzles, lots of puzzles work different levels. But the squares are so tiny that it can be quite a chore to fill out a puzzle.

Two problems with these publications
The puzzles themselves are great. Good challenge without being so difficult you cheat or get bored. LOL. With that said I do have a couple of complaints.I find the paper of the incorrect type because the slightest touch of the pencil writing on the paper and it smears all over the place which to me is a bit annoying. Plus the puzzles on some pages are too close to the binding which makes it difficult to do the puzzle in that area. If the binding is done with staples then you can easily spread the paper open so you can reach the puzzles correctly or even remove the staples to lay the puzzles out flat on a clip board for instance.I'd like to see these two things change and be notified if done so. I'm likely to order more books if this is done rather to just once in a while. I know Amazon prints these and chooses the printing and binding so I hope they will take these notes personally and fix them!!

More detailed pictures.
I got a few different Nonogram books; this was my favorite. The completed pictures actually resemble what they are supposed to. I enjoy knowing what I am supposed to be seeing once the puzzles are complete. The end of this book was a challenge.

i love puzzlesβ₯
I just love solving these puzzles. I got hooked with Picross 3D on the Nintendo DS but i finished all the puzzles 3 different times. They have yet to come out with a new game, so I looked into "manual" picross puzzles. I came upon these series and I love them! They are quite challenging too. The only complaint I have is the book binding... the crease can get in the way of solving a lot of the puzzles. I wish they would make these in a spiral book.

Great puzzles
I'm new to these puzzles, but this book has been great. The puzzles started out easy and have become challenging (and I'm still in the first 1/4 of the book). I like the extra puzzles sprinkled in (a couple each of several other puzzle types) and the instructions on how to solve these puzzles was very welcome (it takes you through the basics and touches on the next level up). Will by more from the same publisher, for sure.

Great to pass the time and if you're up for a challenge.
Gave this as a present to my dad for Christmas. He has told me time and time again how much he loves it! He loves challenging puzzles, and even the easier ones stumped him. I've spent countless hours doing Picross phone puzzles, and I can also attest that some of the 2star puzzles in this book took me a bit to get a handle of. Would recommend to any puzzle or picross enthusiast.

Too Many Extremely Hard
The book states from easy to hard. It would be more fair to say most are moderately to extremely hard. Trying to find logic to solve regularly impossible. Note this is the only Black and White Hanjie on Amazon from Logi Puzzles. The latter should give a clue. If you want Hanjie that are more solvable try Griddlers. You will note there are many volumes.

Logi-Puzzles Hanjie Puzzle book
This is a good book of Hanjie puzzles - the puzzles start off fairly easy & get progressively harder. I haven't come across Logi-Puzzles before but I will definitely look out for other Hanjie books by them. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how good the puzzles were & I certainly didn't get through the book in a couple days like I have done with some other publications. This is definitely a book I would happily recommend to other Hanjie puzzle lovers.

Top stuff!
Love these puzzles, but they're hard to find (virtually impossible in shops) so I was pleased to see this on amazon. 100 puzzles getting progressively harder, and it turns out I'm pretty useless at them, but they're still very addictive!

hours of enjoyment - challenging as some of the easy ones are not easy to solve. challenged the brain - so happy with the level.
