Eye opening book
This book is an eye opener regarding a very sick era of American history. Readers will find it disturbing and it is definitely not for those who treasure or love that Gone With The Wind movie or book which is pure fantasy. That movie becomes more irrelevant with every passing year.

Awesome
Very good morning, afternoon, and evening read. It's worth checking into if you have a desire to know more about certain aspects of slavery and some of what really went down.

Wow its deep
I have read alot Books on African American history from Ida b Wells, then to a book called a price per pound of their flesh and a medical apartheid. And now, on, to this one wow, the layers of racism is thick, but we all need to be informed. The history is brutal and should be told. Its just wrong and 10000 abuse

Awesome incite
Like seriously at first I was scared to read it. This book has given me great incite. Honestly it pissed me off a little as a black woman. Then I understood that it was given me a glimpse into the thoughts of others and a better understanding of why they act and think the way they do.

The Delectable Negro
My seventeen year old Granddaughter was reading this book when I first saw the title. I purchased my copy with the idea of sharing it with other Grandchildren. This book is a very bold project by an author who has done meticulous research. The subject matter verges on ghoulish. I had to put the book down when I read certain description relating to this horrendous practice of cannibalism practiced by slaves. I had read other accounts, but these were guersome.

The additional acts of torture during slavery.
I originally purchased this for a class of mine. It opened to my eyes as to what happened during slavery. I was not aware as the cannibalism that went on during slavery and the violent acts against people wanting and demanding freedom to the point of being eaten by 2 legged animals. Things I thought I knew I never imagined.Me and my grand-children are sharing this book. I will not let them take it home. They have to come over to my home and read a chapter and pass the book to the next individual.I am sorry that I never took a class from Mr. Woodard before his passing. Thank you Mr. Woodward for passing your knowledge to me and other people.Rest In Power.

It was a birthday present for a friend and she absolutely love it.
Nothing to dislike. My friend had this on her wishlist which I didn't know, but went to visit her and she was talking about this book. So a big surprise for her. Thank you.
