Practice Workbook, Student Edition (McDougal Littell Pre-Algebra)

Answers not available unless you buy the extremely expensive teachers edition of the workbook. The answers are not in the teachers edition textbook but a separate teachers edition just for this workbook. Had I known I wouldn't have wasted my money on it.

This book is meant to accompany a pre-algebra textbook referenced in the instructions on each page. If you buy this book, be prepared to give your student significant instruction before making assignments. In other words, this is not a math workbook for a self-directed student.There is no answer key either, so you'll be spending a lot of time solving problems yourself.The questions are clear and usually have enough space to complete the work right on the page.I bought this book for a summer workbook for a soon-to-be 5th grader who is doing advanced mathematics. For the price, the workbook is good, but there are probably workbooks that are easier on parents for summer work.

I use this extensively with my tutor students, to provide practice sheets that augment their class work. I like that it is well organized, has no "frills", and thus is usable for both middle school age students and adult re-learning. This is a good source book for teachers and tutors, and good add-on practice for public school or home school students.

If you are anyone looking to brush up on your math skills I recommend this book. Yes, if you are looking to keep your mind sharp math books are the way to go. There is nothing more to keep you on your toes by exercising your mind with mathematical problems. The older we get the less we use our minds. Some people say good mental exercise will keep you young. So whether you are a teenager, young adult, or are getting up there in years, these books are for you.

Good quality, arrived fast

Bought this to help my daughter who had fallen behind in her prealgebra course. Good companion to the course book. No examples if used independently. Had to hire a tutor when I realized my daughter needed extra instruction rather than more practice. May be useful if practice is all that a child needs.Doesn't help with learning or increasing understanding of the material. We found the textbook chapter reviews far more informative.

Excellent workbook and I have no doubt it will help tremendouslywith practice skills and really mastering the concepts.However, there are NO answers so unless you are an A ++math student this may not be a good book for you. I am trying to find theteachers guide with answers because I believe this is a good book.Algebra is my worst subject so I won't be using it with my son yet.

I've expected a little bit better quality. If I had known it was an American workbook I would not have purchased it.
