300 Surgical Technologist Exam (CST): Questions and Answers

In May 30 years experience as a CST and a First Assistant, I have taken the exams and passed at least 4 times and passed every time without difficulty. This study guide was off the wall misleading questions , wrong answers (there are no islet cells on the gallbladder), and generally a degree of difficulty more like an MSAT than tech exam.

It's two pages per question, one page has a multiple choice question, the other has the answer. 600 pages. Insanely wasteful. Also, the people on the cover are dental hygienists, look, they're not even wearing scrub caps. Plus, a lot of the questions have wrong answers, with a rationale explaining that the wrong answer is correct. Example: Question #100 on page 200: A patient is getting a lap chole, he will be in what position? Answer: Prone. Good luck doing a lap procedure through the patient's back. The practice exam online is a better use of your money.

There were some questions in here with the wrong letter answer and the description gave you the right answer. That could be confusing for a person that is using this for studying purposes. You will need to change your font size so that the answer is not on the same page as the question. No exact question was on the test, but the same format was.

It is easy to understand. Explanation is very good. It is definitely helpful to pas the test. I will recommend all surgical technologist to buy it.

Some questions seemed outdated or unrealistic but it was a descent study guide. Explanation of the answers was very helpful.
