I ordered this light for my boyfriend because his room lacks a lamp that has a cover. The light bulb illuminated his room too yellow and it also hurt his eyes when he looked in that direction, so I wanted to get him a light that didn't hurt his eyes, last long, and created a natural lighting. The product came within a week and was in perfect condition.I have researched on lamps and lighting and as many of us may know, lighting can really affect how a person can feel. Even alarm clocks promote a gradual light change so that a person can wake up naturally feeling more refreshed. I was hoping that his lamp would reach that expectation based on the reviews on amazon.When I turned on the light during the morning, I couldn't tell if the light was from outside the window or from the light. It was SO natural that it didn't have that neon white look and it wasn't bright that hurt the eyes. We waited until night time again to try it. When lit up during the night, the lamp made the room look like it was morning. He had no problem looking at it and it gave a lot of positive energy. It made reading, working, and just almost everything more refreshing.I would recommend this lamp to anyone looking for a long lasting bulb, decent pricing, natural lighting, and a change in your overall energy. If you wake up tired or feel that some lights really hurt your eyes in the morning, get this lamp. I am going to buy one myself because I am now jealous of my boyfriend using this lamp lol. My room is also too yellow.

I had been looking for daylight simulating lamps since they moved us at work to a location with no windows. I kept on delaying the purchase because of the outrageous prices for most such lamps. Then I found this one on Amazon by accident. Furthermore, it was on sale. After reading a lot of the reviews in here, I decided to give it a shot. As soon as I received the lamp, I took it to work. No assembly required; just installing the bulb; couldn't have been any easier. What a surprise after turning it on!!! The difference with the other lamps I had on my desk was shocking! That's when I noticed that all the other lamps projected a dull, yellowish light. This lamps projects a clear, white light that is still kind on the eyes. You just have to make sure you are not pointing it straight to your eyes because the bulb gets pretty bright. Since I have a very large desk in a cube with tall walls, I decided to go ahead and buy a second one. I can't wait until I have both lamps. By the way, my coworker and with whom I share the cube wanted to get one for herself as soon as she saw mine.

It's exactly as advertised. I can't speak for 'bulb' longevity yet, but I received what I expected and I'm happy. I wish that the cord could be directed in other directions because I like to face it towards our white wall and/or ceiling to give a more diffused light and overall better room lighting. Otherwise, it's directional like a spot light, which is neither good nor bad but makes for sharper shadows. If you like what you see, want to save energy, and want this type of lamp, I recommend this model.UPDATE: Almost 1 1/2 years later, I still like this lamp. The bulb is going strong, and I highly recommend leaving the light on. It's not for quick "on/off again" use. Doing that decreases bulb longevity. I leave it on for at least 4hrs., up to 12 hrs. I also point it towards a white wall and it lights up the whole room softly, with smooth shadowing. UPDATE: Nothing to do with the lamp, it's fine, but the bulb went out today, 2yrs. 2 mos. later. Went to Batteries Plus and got replacement for $9.99. I use it on average about 6-8hrs day. It draws only about 18 watts to give a 60-75 watt brightness level. About 1/4 the energy usage of a standard 60-75 watt incandescent bulb.

I had a Verilux lamp for years on my desk. I thought I was satisfied with it and when it suddenly didn't work any more even with a new bulb, I looked for another Verilux lamp to replace it. But there was not one that was identical (apparently they aren't making my particular style any more) so I searched for options on Amazon. I got this one based on the price and the reviews I read of this lamp and others. Long story short, I love this lamp. I have glaucoma, so contrast and depth are issues for me. This lamp is so much brighter than the Verilux lamp that it really makes a difference. It makes me happy every time I use it because it is so bright and cheerful. It makes things much easier to see - the light is very clear and bright, but not too bright - it does not cause a glare on my laptop display as some lights have in the past. I have a small space and the base of it is a little bigger than the Verilux but it is worth it for the extra brightness. If space is an issue then be sure you check the measurements because the base was larger than I thought it would be. The bulb was easy to insert (much easier than the Verilux). I would definitely purchase this lamp again - well worth the cost.

I bought this to replace my old Ott light that passed away. It shines light in the same amount of space but the neck is shorter. I have it setting on a box for more height which helps. For the price difference and needing it quick and my budget tight, this was a great second choice to an Ott light. If you've never had an Ott light, you will probably think this is the best task lamp ever. It has a heavy base so adjusting the neck, the lamp stays put. I use this as my main source of light when I make jewelry.
