Very useful
Use this on my duty duty wepon very useful tool for one handed operation.Be mindful on your holster and how close it sits around the trigger guard if it's to close could cause damage to the switch

Useful
This item is perfect for anyone who loves to shoot and those who practice in low light/nighttime shooting sessions. This little piece helps you manipulate your weapon mounted light easier and more effective. The DG switch allows you to keep both hands on the firearm maintaining a proper grip and turn the light on/off with ease. 100% recommend!

Pricey but nice to have
I recently shot a practical pistol match at night. We started at dusk and went until 4AM. It was very instructive. I am a far more reliable and faster shooter when using a mounted weapon light as opposed to holding a flashlight weak hand. I was also concerned about how easy it could be to get your weak hand to close to the muzzle in long strings of shots. It takes a lot of practice to do hold a light and shoot well and safely. I used a Sure X200 and was very pleased with it, but the match experience prompted me to buy this Grip Switch assembly rather than fumble with the original switch.I also used to work in a gun store, so I have handled a lot of firearms with mounted lights and laser sights. This switch placement, in my experience, is the most ergonomic and easy to use.

Perfect fit
This remote for the Surefire X300, on a Glock 22 Gen 4 fits and operates perfectly. I also have this remote on my XDM .40, same thing fits and works great

Best product for what it is
Unfortunately, I had to return it because I chose the wrong size. But I have several of these on my other pistols. They are great!! they have never failed me during training. They are the best of the best!

Convenience at the cost of ergonomics
I own a p226 legion. I got a Surefire x300U to go with it but the switches were very stiff. It was to the point of me trying to turn the light off only for it to stay on due to me having to apply so much force for it to move it would move past the off position to the opposite "on" direction.I decided to try this as an alternative. It is very well made for what it is. It functioned flawlessly and was much easier to turn on.However, this came at a cost. The way this was designed made it cover the deeper u cut at the trigger guard that the legions come standard with. It's definitely something that you can train around but, for how nice that cut feels compared to a standard p226, it really made me just work at the switches for a while longer. In summary, its great in form and function, but for the legion owners out there, it's going to take quite a bit of time to get used to not having that really comfy undercut.

Perfect for home/self defense use
While there are those who will advocate carrying a hand-held light with their handgun, I've always trained and found it more useful to have a weapon-mounted light (while still carrying a hand-held light as a backup.... remember, 2 is 1 and 1 is none). The DG switch does exactly what it was intended on doing, and that is to activate the weapon-mounted light by gripping your gun tightly.I actually have 2 of these switches, one on a 1911 and one on my Glock (this review pertains to the 1911, since I purchased that switch from Amazon). On either gun, the switch neatly tucks under the trigger guard leaving no gap between the frame and switch. Your middle finger, unless you shoot unconventionally, will activate the light. If you don't have a good & secure grip on the gun, the slight will not activate. I find this as a good thing since the light acts as a training device, telling you when you have a good grip to shoot the gun.A couple of things to note....First, the light may look like it's dimming on you at times. That's because if you loosen up your grip, but still have enough pressure on the switch pad, it will activate the light but vary on the brightness. The switch acts like an On/Off switch, but it also regulates the current going to the light. I can actually make my X300 light up dim and then squeeze the grip tighter and make the light bright at its full potential. Kind of interesting to experience for the first time when shooting in a low light course or situation, so just be aware of that. This happens with both my DG-18 and DG-11 switches on my X300 Ultra.Second, I can still use the momentary activation with my index finger or support thumb, but the light will only turn on when you turn the knob clockwise. With the factory X300 cover, the light will turn on if you turn the switch clockwise or counter-clockwise. If you turn the DG switch counter-clockwise, the light will not turn on. Again, not a deal breaker but just be aware of that if you are used to turning on your X300 lights that way.

Works well and convenient
Very convenient addition that allows you to momentarily activate your pistol mounted light without having to shift your grip and can be activated one handed. Only down side is that not all holsters accommodate this so be aware of that before buying.
