This is the only review I’ve left for a product, but this splint is worth it.I ordered this for my son’s wrestling bag we take to practices and tournaments after seeing a teammate break an arm last year. Yesterday at a youth tournament a wrestler injured her arm/elbow. The “medic” bag onsite lacked a split. I gave them this one from our bag and it immediately allowed them to stabilize her arm so it could be wrapped and she could get to the hospital.Having seen the need for this product and how it can make a difference when someone is hurt, it really matters. You will not regret the minimal cost of this splint when someone needs it for medical care. This is some of the best money I’ve spent in recent memory, and I truly mean that.Also, the length is enough to cut into 2 pieces if using it for kids ages appx 11 or so and under from our experience. If you do not have a cutter on site, you can fold it in half for fit and added stability. Too, consider getting some form of wrap/medical tape.Now that we’ve used ours yesterday, I’ll be replacing it today. I’m also ordering one for our head coach for his bag.Thanks

I haven't used it yet, but did unroll it a few inches to examine. Appears to be as described, and feels up to the task to -help- provide support. Since it does not adhere to itself it can still move around and the support it could supply is limited. It will be much more effective overwrapped with cloth tape, even duct tape.

I bought a couple of these, one for my FAK and the other for the medicine cabinet. It's adequately stiff once set up. Padding is plenty thick. It will do its job. However, it's bigger than I expected. It fits fine in the med cab but will not fit as-is in my medium sized FAK pouch. I could fold it flat and/or do a bit of creative rearranging to make it fit. Or, maybe it's time to get a bigger FAK pouch.

A must have item for any complete first aid kit. This splint is well made and easy to use.

Having used both these and the name brand "SAM Splints", I would say there is no practical difference. There is a slight grid texture on the side that goes towards your skin. It doesn't seem to affect anything as a properly applied splint should be padded anyway. I am an EMT and was doing a class with young students and so I did't want to invest in the somewhat more expensive name brand version. These might be slightly less durable, but seem to be constructed exactly the same. I would recommend these to anyone looking to buy a "SAM Splint".

This thing is so cool!! It’s magic. We got some at work (lifeguard) and they were so neat and convenient that I bought one for my first aid kit (i do a lot of surfing and hiking so a splint is a good tool). You can also cut it to the length you need with any scissors.

I think it does what its supposed to.It wasn't rolled and there were no instructions on the product, but it did come with a piece of paper saying that you should bend it to make it stronger. It's very malleable and u can cut it with scissors pretty easily. This being said, its not that great for a finger splint. My finger is able to bend this very easily with only one bent layer. Still like it, though. I'd buy it again.

Amazing stuff! Applies easily. Can be fitted and molded to almost any situation. With an ACE wrap and this splint you can treat a wide variety of injuries until a more permanent cast or splint can be applied. Lightweight. Tucks easily into my backpack so I have it with me at all times. Inexpensive, versatile resource. Definitely a must have for any rescue or medical kit.
