Planning another trip away this year and trying to find walking guides has been tricky. This looks exactly like the kind of thing we like to do when we are in need of some structure

looks excellent, good clear maps with easy start points and detailed sites of interest.

I'm planning to go to Tokyo in November and I was looking for a comprehensive book fully focused on hot spots in Tokyo and after doing some research I decided to buy this book. First of all the book is really comprehensive, it comprises of almost all cool spots in Tokyo. Now, on the negative side, I was hoping to find more local restaurant/cafe recommendations. For instance, I came across French, German etc. style cafes so many times in the book which made me disappointed. That's a Japan book after all and personally, I have no interest in going to this kind of cafes in Japan. The second thing is all photos are black&white which makes the book a bit dull and because of the contrast of some photos I didn't even understand what I'm looking at. In general, I learned a lot however it could have been so much better in my opinion

Can’t recommend this more highly I’m just back from Tokyo and used this book most days.You don’t have to follow every walk exactly it’s flexiable enough to give you lots of time and can be done in a relaxed pace.You won’t be disappointed wish someone did this for all major cities would change how we see them

Going back to japan. This book made me realise that i missed out on alot tne first time. Great info and laid out well and routes are interesting.

The walks are very short - often less than 2 miles/kilometres - and there's no sense of how they could link to each other. The icons used are confusing.The design is like something from the 1950s. Cheap paper, no colour, information crammed in. Overpriced. Avoid.

Very good guide which provides an insight into both well known landmarks as well as those unknown hidden gems. Offers practical advice and good places to stop take a drink and review.

What an amazing guide !!We stayed in Tokyo for 8 days and daily followed 2 to 3 of the walks using the QR code printed on the book that is linked to google maps, that was incredible and so easy to use. I wish I can find a book like this for every city. Definitely a must !

This book was not what I expected. What I had anticipated was a book outlining more obscure walks to take within Tokyo with interesting cultural and historical features. Instead, the book features walks in the major areas you would expect for Tokyo tourism. Nevertheless, I really like the book and it gave me a number of ideas of sights to see that I hadn't identified through internet research. The book is incredibly well thought out, giving helpful information such as good places to visit if it's raining, where public bathrooms are, and the author's go-to cafes and lunch spots in each of the 42 areas he features. If there is one thing I would have liked to see more of it would have been more general descriptions of each of the neighborhoods he features in the walks with an explanation of *why* I should want to go to that neighborhood; instead, the author shies away from giving his subjective opinion regarding the neighborhoods and places he features, so you're left wondering whether the area is worth visiting. Nevertheless, this is a very well thought out and useful book and I highly recommend it for anyone planning a visit to Tokyo.

Straconsigliato. L'ho usato per organizzare il mio viaggio in Giappone e per i miei 7 giorni a Tokyo è stato indispensabile. In poche pagine riesce a dare tanti spunti di viaggio e a non confondere le idee, cosa molto facile in Giappone e soprattutto a Tokyo.Anche se è in inglese è facilmente comprensibile e può essere una svolta per organizzare gli itinerari da seguire in quella follia di città!
