Great product!
I use this for removing styrofoam insulation from a cavity in picnic coolers. I use this cavity to insert a heating pad to make the cooler into an incubator for baby wildlife as I am a wildlife rehabilitator. It works great for this purpose!

Good product but not useful for spoon carving
I have recently started carving wooden spoons and decided to buy a bent gouge rather than a spoon knife, as they are hard to sharpen. I was so excited when I received this in the mail. First it came much quicker than amazon indicated, about 10 business days. The packaging was a little less than desired but the product was undamaged. Second, the gouge is well made especially considering the cost. However I soon noticed the problem. In the item picture it looks like the cutting edge is curved, or has a sweep, but in reality the cutting edge is flat. Therefore the gouge can't be used for carving spoons or bowls. I returned the gouge and instead bought a pfeil swiss made #7 20mm bent gouge which was much pricier but has been amazing to use.If you are looking for a bent gouge with a flat edge I would recommend this gouogeIf you are looking for a bent gouge with a curved edge I would highly recommend the pfeil swiss made bent gougesI gave this gouge 3 stars because of the misleading picture.

Poor quality steel arrived with uneven edge with burrs all ...
Instead of buying this, take your $14, go outside and set a match to it. Poor quality steel arrived with uneven edge with burrs all over it. I sharpened it but it won't hold an edge because it is cheap soft steel. The quality is cheaper than the price. Spend $60 or $80 on a quality curved gouge or buy a 1/4" straight chisel and you will be better off. Didn't expect much for the price but still feel cheated.

Rough as a cob on the inside
I'm giving this tool two stars only because it was so inexpensive. I should have heeded the low ratings others have posted for this tool, but I figured at the price it was worth a shot. The inside curved surface on this gouge looks like it was ground with a chunk of concrete. I spent hours grinding and polishing the inside surface with my Dremel rotary tool, and honing the back side with diamond stones. Now it's pretty sharp, but doesn't work for what I needed it for. However but that's more a function of the shape than of the quality of the blade. Ditto for the spoon gouge chisel from Faithful that I bought at the same time (separate posting).

Can't complain
It's basically what I expected for the price, and the shipping took awhile from the uk. I think with some work it might be a usable tool. The blade is a little off centered and almost looks like it could be glued to the handle. Guess I'll find out if it breaks in half. It was really cheap though so I can't complain.

but just doesn't compare to better quality gouges
Not sure what I was expecting for the price. But the gouge is not usable with the factory grind. After some work, I can use it, but just doesn't compare to better quality gouges.
