Best age: Toddler (purchased for 3 year old, perfect age for use) Pros: Complete kit - comes with "tackle" box, vest, activity book (geared for closer to Kindergarten age), rod (large, made for children's hands), three fish (small, medium, large), three worms (small, medium, large - they slip on the hook above the magnet and may slightly interfere with snagging a fish), and a net. Cons: Would be nice if it came with more fish. The tackle box doesn't have a latch and ours doesn't actually click closed - so if we go to lift it by the handle, the contents dump out. It is a pity it was poorly designed in that regard, but I'm still glad I chose this set over some of the others I had seen offered online. My three year old has already logged quite a few hours with this toy and it doesn't show any signs of wear yet. I was able to get the rod to cast, but it took a lot of force and didn't really work well - so we pull out the line and then "catch" the fish and reel them in. The reel is simple enough for my toddler to use. I DO NOT think this toy is meant to go in the water, we have not tried - but I wouldn't advise it. Would I recommend: YES! Fun toy, worth about $20.

Love the vest idea, making it an even more special experience for 2 year old. Fish are fairly large and very colorful. Magnets on fish are concealed and fairly strong. Tiny worms are very tiny, however, and I was very careful that these were not put anywhere near my 2 year olds mouth, for fear that it might become a potential choking hazard, however, all was fine. Oh, and the little pink worms just click into the little indentations on the fishing rod hook, horizontally. No directions on that , so it took a while to figure out how the worms attach. Very cute! The small fishing net allowed for an extra step in catching the fish, prolonging the fun a little longer. Perfect!

I do not know many preschoolers that do not like to pretend to fish. This set is prefect! A reel that really works. Fish that float in the water, and you can catch with the reel. A cool looking vest. I must say, er, type, the cutest worms ever! And so much more is included. This is a STRONG set. I really feel like this toy set will be around for a long time. I like that everything is stored in the tackle box. Excellent for your child's imagination. I recently purchased another set for a child's birthday party we are attending this weekend.

This is a great pretend fishing set! I love the three different size fish with the three different size worms. The fishing line actually can be reeled in and out and there is a net to catch the fish when you do. I would have given this five stars but the fact that the magnet on the hook to get the fish isn't that strong and you pretty much have to put the hook in their mouths to actually catch them is the only draw back. The fish DO stay on once you do get it in their mouths, but getting it their mouths without using your hands is a small problem. My daughter got a little frustrated, but once I showed her how to put it in their mouths, she was fine with it. I still think this toy is worth getting for any of your amateur fisher-kids out there!

I was a little surprised at the quality of this product. All came neatly tucked in the tackle box. The vest is a nice thicker cotton, so cute compared to the cheaper plastic ones weve seen. The fishing pole is durable, and he has pulled and pulled on the string. The magnets for the fish are working great. This was a gift for my 2 year old grandson and he didnt want to take the vest off at his parents house all weekend! He is now taking the tackle box with him everywhere and is big enough to pack new things in dailiy.

My son loves to go fishing. I absolutely love the tackle box, fake bait and fishing vest. The fish have build-in magnet’s that allow the fish to attach to the fishing rod. All around great toy!

My son make his own fishing pool out of a pot rack hook and his toy broom handle. So when his birthday rolled around i knew we had to buy him this. (he's very innovative,hah) Gave it to him for his 3rd birthday and he never stops playing with it. It's such a cute set and everything is so well maid! It all comes in the tackle boy and everything fits nicely inside for an easy clean up :) We filled up his plastic swimming pool and put the fish in for him to fish. Only thing is that the worms aren't magnetic like the pool and fish are. So they don't stay on the hook too well. But everything in this set is so cute! You can't go wrong with this adorable fishing set, such a great price too!

Vest is great! Magnetic pole and fish are less than desired...very week magnets!
