A good quick read
I don’t use every plant he discusses in this short article. However, based on what knowledge I have, I feel the authors plant choices are a good representation of ‘the first 20 plants to learn.’ I could argue over a few of them (dandelion can be found in many cities and forests but his location in Canada might not have a lot more of this plant). For two dollars this one is worth a purchase. For more depth and better pictures, you should purchase books by John Kallas and Samuel Thayer.

great write up and description but it really needs photos
great write up and description but it really needs photos, Many of the plants he described he cautioned about similar look alike plants that were poisonous. Drawing just won't do it. Save your money and purchase a book that has photos so you can Identify the plants by sight to make sure you have the right ones.

21 Native Wild Edible Plants
This "could" have been an excellent survival resource, "if" it had been illustrated using colored drawings or photos. While the book repeatedly warns of the dangers inherent in ingesting some wild plants that resemble benign varieties, but which are poisonous, the black lined sketches do little to aid one in differentiating one type from the other.

Know these plants!
World renowned author list and describes 21 plants everyone who has an interest in foraging should know. Yes, color photos would be better than the drawings, but then you know you always should use multiple sources to identify plants don't you? Just the list of the plants he picked are worth the small price of this ebook.

Whoopie!
I would have preferred a color photo of the plants. It is hard enough and risky enough to identifythe edible plants from these ink drawings.I would have preferred more emphasis on Poison look- a- like plants to help avoid deadly mistakes.

Worthwhile, but don't trust your life on it.
This man is a known outdoor expert, and the information he provides is worth the short read. Combine this book with one which provides good pictures (hard to find on Kindle), and have both available when you venture into the woods around Alberta to live off the land.
