150 Best House Ideas Hardcover – November 8, 2005

I purchased this book as a gift for my folks as they are currently in the process of designing their house. They've taken a couple ideas from this book and its helping move the process along by providing many different examples and layouts of what they would want but don't know how to go about implementing them.

If you are like me and can feel the serenity and health of an environment just by viewing it, then you, love this book. Great info and inspiration to live with natural materials and design that enhances peace and energy flow. This book has motivated me to not just dream, but move in!

This book has many great images in a relatively compact size. The floor plans are easily understood even by a novice like me. I wish there had been just a littl emore background on materials and the architects but it was not meant to be a technical guide. Anyway, it is a superb choice for those looking for ideas who wanna show their architect/contractors.

I've purchased other books in this series and have been happy with the variety of homes shown. However, this book was disappointing in that the same design details were shown more than enough. Homes with wooden slat walls or dividers were constantly repeated throughout the book. Not much was said for the write ups on green-friendly building materials. The last section included random furnishings that had nothing to really contribute to the theme of the book.

This is another really good resource book for ideas when one is seeking to build eco-sensibly and sustainably, providing a large range of examples in many different settings within which one will be able to discover settings to match any project in the planning stages. Highly recommended.

If you buy only 1 book about tiny houses buy this one. I bought several and this is by far the best one. Best photos, best floor plans. Just a really great layout and design of the book.

who lives in these houses? Mostly vacation homes, but nice book

I like this book, it has a lot of great pictures and gives the reader some cool ideas to think about if they were designing their own eco house.
