It needs to connect at the receiver yes, it has to connect on both ends, so its a closed loop. Dunno kind of wire but its very thin. I stapled it to the molding on the floor around the room.

Can this loop be used in a bar setting where music is played?

I don’t think it will work. Loop is only good for voice, not for music. I would check this out with a loop installation company.

Will this connect to a church sound board?

It will connect, although it will not loop a large area with the 100' of wire.
