Q: Is this anymore gentle than theTS-5 as I find that ons a bit harsh and leaves razor burn

I couldn't tell you as I haven't used the TS-5. However, I have very sensitive skin on my neck and suffer tremendously from clippers and razors, without even getting rid of all the hair/stubble due to the angle of its growth. With this, I can really go to town, get really close and have the smoothest finish I've ever achieved (except for a barber's cut-throat used from multiple angles, which also disrupts the skin. Basically, this Andis version gets rid of all the hair, which for me means multiple angles and repeat shaving, without damaging my skin.

Q: What is the difference between this and the TS-1?

Realy nothing. This model has a black rubber sidesbut TS-1 all plastic. And has a red light when charging, when battery full then green light, also has a charging stand which no in TS-1. Performance is the same.

Q: Is it suppose to discharge while you are not using it? It happened twice within a week

Hi, all Lithium Batteries discharge a little from the time they are charged. I tend to charge my Andis three times a week to keep up good use.
