Homework Helpers: Biology, Revised Edition

I liked the layout of the book and would have been more than glad to have it back in high school bio. I took college Bio I in 2008, and after a change in major needed Bio II now (2011), so I was looking for a refresher on the basics. I needed more than this book covered, but it would still be a valuable resource for students in high school or maybe college level bio I classes.

I purchased this book to give to a friend who is struggling in high school Biology. She and her college-age tutor say it is very useful to look up and get a different take on the material. Plus, her textbook isn't very good so this book aids the whole process of learning the material.Her tutor told her to keep it through college too, so the tutor liked it too.

I wouldn't use this as a stand alone (getting Barron's Biology Flash Cards is a must) study guide but it helped a TON with the exam. I never took biology in highschool so this was a great read, very detailed, and the practice exams after every chapter helps you recall the information. I would also check out Khan's Academy online for a free resource to your biology exam news whether its a CLEP, SAT, or AP.

Very good overview and easy to digest. The chapters track our daughter's textbook well and the reviews at the end of each section are very helpful. The feature that includes explanations of "wrong" answers to the review questions has really proven beneficial, also. This is an excellent companion and study guide to any high school biology course in my opinion.

Useful book, to help my 10th grader in Biology.

to be honest you must like biology, as for me every time i started to read i fell to sleep :)

This is a good review of the basics of biology. I'm also reading the Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus versions of this series. They're all a pretty good review of the basics.

The material has been presented in a lucid manner. Anyone can quite easily master the topics covered in the text. However, I feel that a few left out areas could be included.
