Give to teenagers, graduates, quarter life crisis sufferers, pretty much everyone. I've shared much of the book with my daughters (10 and 5) and they are eager to share their views and ask questions. Everything about this book makes me feel good. I get excited everytime I pick it up! The format is inspired; the colors stunning. The pages of the book even smell good!

Good for reconnecting with your SO or children. Or just getting to know someone. Also, great for therapy when you have a client that neee question prompting to get them to open up or just start talking.

These are the social words that come to mind when I use SoulPancake with my high school students in our writing class.Wilson, Gundry, Lucina, and Mogharabi have done a splendid job formatting a book calling for a re-examination of humanity, published for a contemporary audience. They artistically (verbally and graphically) engage the reader in content that is rooted in questions from classic philosophers to contemporary pop songs. In the introduction it is clear their objective is more than a book; it "is a movement to chew on life's big questions" (p. vi). Moving the reader to action is what the authors do.Using SoulPancake in my high school classes, students seem more engaged as they critically think about their own definitions of humanity. Worksheet-style pages invite the readers to participate in a "space to tackle art, philosophy, creativity, and spirituality" (vi). Content collected from a variety of sources provides for the scientist, theologian, poet, child, elder, or explorer in any classroom. This book offers something for every reader as it explodes with creative variety. One of the best books I’ve picked up in years! Ordered Soul Boom when I was 5 pages in!

I found this book when I was looking for "Soul Boom," by Rainn Wilson, and it was a nice discovery. While I probably wouldn't agree with its collaborators on all of their beliefs or views, I do think I could enjoy some long conversations with them about the possibilities of this world and the next. I love the combination of art, philosophy, science, and religion, as they are all important elements in a full life. Note: This book is not something to just read straight through - it is a collection of ideas and questions to consider over time. And it somehow presents them with both reverence and humor, prompting beauty and fresh perspectives all around.

I found about this book through my grad school (Claremont Lincoln University) as part of one of their keynotes for an event. I love Rainn Wilson and some of the things he's got going on. Soulpancake is philosophical but not that overbearing, too serious crap that turns so many away from a great discussion. This book is fun in that it's got GREAT graphical design paired with fun questions. I think it's best use is as a coffee table read or a random flip-page sort of thing at your witty dinner party among thoughtful friends. It pokes at those tough questions we all have opinions about. WARNING -- the boyfriend HATED this book. He thought it was way too serious and inappropriate content for sharing among friends. I think it is safe to put out there among your inner circle.

Bought this book used but really happy to find it signed by Rainn! I don’t know who Sunny is but hopefully he got a lot out of this book too. Really interesting and got my creativity juices going and sparked my brain. Also it gave me motivation to be a better human. Great book, I’d highly recommend this read!!

When my book arrived in the mail I sat down for a quick look and it was an hour later when I surfaced. It was more like an experience of being with the book rather than just reading it. It opened spirtuality and art up in an inclusive humurous way. I really like the questions Soulpancake asks, questions that are to be pondered, debated and not necessarily answered defintely. A fun book to have at a gathering of friends and family. I am very much looking forward to discussing the book's questions with my family over the holiday season. It will allow new openings to consideration of these topics with my children.

Apart from the fact that Rainn Wilson is a unique force in the world of entertainment, this book is utterly estimulating to the mind, the eye and of course, the soul, for all those out there who call themselves creatives, this is a perfect getaway not only for the attractive and artsy stuff all over its pages but for bringing up so relevant, sincere and intriguing life's big questions, I am so glad I picked this one up, the print version is pretty darn awesome, two thumbs up sir.

This is one book I was looking to buy. It's an interactive book. The best part is, we can not only read this book but also do activities mentioned in them. I'm almost done with the book and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every page of it. Some of the interviews shared in this book put our minds to work and make us thing.In short, this book is as lovable as Dwight Schrute from The Office.
