Device works well, but have realistic expectations....
I bought this unit to transfer gas from a number of jerry cans we keep as emergency backup on our small farm. We refill them about once a year (we use Stabil for storage) and I've gone thru about 4 different devices to transfer the gas from the can into our cars (hand pump, battery). All of them either leaked, stopped working, didn't siphon reliably or couldn't be used with our cans. Since our jerry cans have that welded in tube that reaches to the spout/opening, a number of the smaller battery units wouldn't fit thru. This product uses smallish hoses that fit thru everything, actively pumps the fuel (no hassle's trying to get a siphon) and worked very well, transferring the fuel without making any mess. I like that it runs thru your car's aux power/cig. lighter port (which means you can set up the operation at each car wherever it happens to be) and that it has long hoses that make it easy to reach from the can to the car while keeping them a decent distance apart from each other. This smaller/cheaper unit made by the company is not very high power and the transfer rate is kind of slower than I wish, it transferred the 5 gallon can in about 10 minutes. Since I could set up anywhere I wanted with this kit, I was able to do some work in the barn while keeping an eye/ear on the run so as to make good use of the time (it makes a knocking noise when working, which is actually great, as I could tell by the sound when it was getting close to the end). I stiffened the intake hose with a short length of wider diameter hose that came with the kit so it would stay put on the bottom of the jerry can, and so I could maneuver it to suck up the last bits, which was nice. We got the job done in a morning and I like the fact that this has "prepper value" in that it comes with sleeves that permit you to use the kit's hoses to draw fuel from a car/truck's gas tank into either another car or a fuel can. I plan on using that feature at the end of this season to winterize our other gas driven equipment (like the zero turn) come next winter. I think it's a good product for the price.

Works well
Works well. Lots of attachments. Smooth efficient operation. Case keeps it all sealed up. Hose does not kink.

Slow but works well
I have only used this FlowJoe once, but it worked well. It is not very fast but I am not in a hurry so it is fine for me. It is not easy to get everything back in the box once the job is finished. I use this pump to empty fuel tanks of my small engines for storage prep. I was tired of the gas taste in my mouth. I would buy this unit again.

.....I highly recommend this kit.
I am impressed. I have used it several times and it has served me well. I LOVE the fact the kit is made in USA. I love it. I highly recommend this kit.

Great kit!
I got this initially as an emergency support piece for storms and as a maintenance tool for my small engines, but it’s proved to be very useful. It’s a simple concept and sure you can buy tubing, an inline fuel pump and build one… but it’s a well thought out kit and simplifies gas transfer. The new EPA nozzles on gas cans won’t work on some of my vehicles and always leak. I drop a can next to whatever and let the pump do the work, no mess no issue. I made an adapter to the power supply so I can connect it to a battery, or run it off of the vehicle supply. But it makes draining tanks a breeze and I waste less fuel.Since the plastic 5 gal tanks won’t work on myold Jeep, this lets me siphon or add gas with no issue. for small engines, at end of season, I use it to drain the small engines, cycle a little treatment through them and I don’t have issues next season from bad fuel. I transfer all of the small engine gas to one of our vehicles that use gas and I’m not doing as much long term treatment. In a storm, I don’t need a ton of extra storage tanks for generators, I can use the small engine tanks and vehicles to store extra gas and this to siphon it later if I need it.Happy with my purchase.

My truck is siphon proof... Plan B then
The plan:I do track days on my motorcycle. I have to refuel during the day because I flog my engine silly. Refuelling from a jug is messy no matter how hard I try. The fit between the nozzle and the jug is always imperfect. Finally I have to remember to fill the jug before heading out to the track before dawn. Or sometime to simply put it innthe truck before leaving home. I am imperfect and this whole scenario has murphy written all over.I saw this and thought that i could discard the jug and very neatly use the pickup truck fuel tank as a vessel to refuel the bike with no mess. No spilling, no heaving, no forgotten or empty cans!I recieved this pump and used it with no issues of quality, effectiveness, storage or anything else. Very happy with this package.Reality:This included seve al sizes of hose for many different applications. Unfortunatley none of them will slid all the way into my 2002 tacoma's tank. There are bends in the filled that the hoses just cannot pass. Even the tiniest size hose cannot get in. Works fine on my car, not on my truck. Rats!Plan B:I am back to taking the 5gal jug to the track. The pump works great to avoid spills and awekward manuevers to fill the tank. So this is better. It just does not get the smelly, sliding, extra item I have to remember to both bring and fill with me to the track.I cannot blame this pump though. Works great.Update 9/12/2016:I find this is very useful in my shop to empty motorcycle gas tanks. The cigarette lighter plug is not so useful for that. Oh my motorcycles happy tails on the batteries for maintaining the charge on the batteries. So I cut off the cigarette lighter plug and installed SAE connectors. Now I can connect the pump directly to the connectors on the motorcycle, or I can use the alligator clips with SAE connectors that came with my battery maintainer. This allows me to connect the pump directly to The posts on a battery. The set up works great for just about everything. See the attached picture if you are unfamiliar with sae connectors.

this product is completely worthless on a lot of vehicles
the filler pipe on a lot of newer cars goes into tank in a horizontal position so all you are pumping is air in the top of the tank the gas taper will make a nose ornament in my shop
