The Modern Bell...
Hi guys. I'm the doorbell man. I've bought a whole lot of wireless doorbells over the years to use with our small business' drive-thru window. Wired doorbells have a tendency to get snatched, or demolished by cars traveling too close by, and wireless doorbells have all failed at various times for one reason or another. Our last wireless doorbell died to a thing you wouldn't think would happen. The button broke. Literally, the button will not "push" anymore, or activate the transmitter.I picked up this Honeywell to replace it, even though it is a bit more than the usual budget for such things. Sure, $40 is not much, but it is about twice what I normally pay. I was in a good mood and a $20 splurge was in order. This little unit rocks. The transmitter (the push button part), once you could get it open (which is a bit of work with a screwdriver), is operated with a large disk battery. Range is good despite this battery, and I was impressed. Just to clarify, our business is a cinder block and steel girder building, and the unit is 25 feet away from the transmitter in line of sight, but through a small drive through window. Therefore, for my use, range is not a huge issue. The button on the transmitter is made of rubber, like the buttons on a remote control, and this has advantages and disadvantages. Rubber buttons create less mechanical friction than those made of hard plastic, and therefore, are less likely to break than my previous button which broke for this reason. The disadvantage is that rubber gives way when you press on it, making it more difficult to tell if you have depressed the switch underneath the rubber. This basically means you can have a "visitor" who pushes the doorbell and nothing happens. That is, if they press the doorbell too lightly to depress the switch, but they have pressed on the rubber hard enough for them to think it should work. There is a little line in the center which acts as a guide to where people should press, but if you don't see it and press far above or below the line, this also might not depress the switch. The designers noticed this flaw (I assume), and included an orange LED which lights up when the switch is pressed, and it is located at the top of the transmitter. This is helpful (but not foolproof), and practically useless if you have it oriented at eye level sideways, as I do. Still, it is good that they included this, and this should assist all but the most unassuming of visitors.Sound wise, this is an excellent product. I personally feel that "ding-dong" is the all time reigning champion of doorbell noises, and this one really takes the cake. It sounds like a real bell, and with very good tonal quality. If you are a more complex person than I am, you might prefer the other two tones, which are more complex melodies. It does have westminster, or the grandfather clock ring, and the other one is interesting. I suppose it is possible that visitors might stop by just to hear your bell ring, but I doubt it.This bell is marketed to look modern, technological and fancy, and therefore, it has the required lights. There is a little "smoke black" cover in the front of the receiver which is removeable with little icons which show you which tone you are playing. They can be replaced if you wish to have multiple transmitters, to show which transmitter is transmitting. The burnt orange is somewhat modern look, but unless you have multiple transmitters, this is a bit of overkill. I seldom take a look at a doorbell to "see" if it is ringing. Yet, this feature might make it an option for hearing impared folks.Overall, this product carries with it the caveat of missed rings because of button pressing issues. While most people wont experience this problem regularly, it is worth noting, and a possibility you will have to accept with this unit.Yet, still a good product and recommended.

A Great Doorbell and Very Customizable
I love these doorbells. I have a large house and have tired a lot of doorbells. A wired doorbell is not practicable, and costly in my case. I last tried the SadoTech Model C doorbells, ordered several sets, but very disappointed to learn they come as is, not programmable to add more receivers or push buttons. With SadoTech, what you get is what you get.Hard coded and not customizable at all for adding more buttons and or ringer/receivers.Returned the SadoTech doorbells to Amazon. Now for the Honeywell review...What I love about these Honeywell doorbells is that they are fully customizable for homes needing many receivers or homes with many doors needing to have several push buttons. Also, the receivers have great sounding tones, several tones to chose from, some long playing tones (which I like), receivers are wall mountable with tape or screws, and what I love is they are battery operated.I personally Do NOT like receivers that are A/C wall outlet powered because the receiver takes up a wall outlet AND A/C electrical wall outlets are located near the floor so the tone receiver when plugged in, is low near the floor area. Not the best location for spreading that doorbell sound around the home.A higher wall mounted receiver/tone box is going to cover more area with sound. More easily heard. These Honeywell doorbell sets have visual indicators (light-up icons), as well as the different tone chimes, also one can completely turn down the chime ring and go only by the flashing light-up indicator, if needed. As in the baby room. And the visual indicators ( 3 light-up icons on this model ) can be customized for a back-door visitor, front-door visitor, or a 3rd icon indicator for use in a needy persons room when they need attention.A lot of customizability ability indeed. The doorbell receiver is plenty LOUD, battery operated 3-AA batteries (not included, however). The push button itself uses a round CR2032 battery (included in the set). You can buy additional spare of these thin flat round silver CR2032 batteries from almost any store carrying batteries.Commonly available. Many camcorders use this same battery, and most PC motherboards use this same CR2032 battery. The push-button doorbell itself has a lighted indicator that briefly lights an amber color when the button is pushed.Good, because it tells the visitor that the button is working. And you can add additional push buttons and or additional Honeywell Doorbell Sets to cover a large home or a home with more than your average 2 outside doors. You can have a receiver upstairs, downstairs, or receivers on every levels of the home. Even a receiver in the backyard sauna, gazebo, garage, where ever needed. Just add more sets.If you have an ill or needy person living in the house requiring assistance, you could have a push button for their assistance. And you can customize the chime receiver(s) to chime differently when the back door is pressed, or the front door pressed, and or someone inside needing assistance that has a button of their own.I personally bought two complete sets of the Honeywell doorbells units to cover the areas needed in my home, and the included push buttons, one each for the two main outside doors.Discovering how well the system worked, I will need to buy another set to cover the entire house and all the outside doors. So far, very happy and impressed with the doorbell system from Honeywell.Range covers the entire house, and did not need to have the house hard wired for a doorbell system. That would be the last option if this Honeywell system(s) fail, or develop issues.

Buen producto, pero...
A veces el botón del timbre falla. Deben presionarlo más de una vez para que funcione. En general buena calidad por precio.
