Anyone tried this for long bike races?

Used it as additional hydration for trip up Haleakala crater. Wasn’t too sure about water stops along the route. While this wasn’t a race, it worked great for this ride. I usually run with this pack.

Can this be used for a marathon? I am training and running my first full in October and training would be during summer months. Is this good enough?

I have been using this pack since last summer. I typically run 10 miles but am training for a marathon right now. I only fill the pack to the .5 l line and dont usually use all of the water. The pack holds my phone , protein bar and pack jacket no problem with the hydro pack 3/4 filled. Also there is a pouch on the left should that holds my energy chews. Great pack.

Does the water taste like rubber?

Probably if you left in there for a month, but no, I have never had that experience with camelbaks. They are high quality. That’s why even our military uses them.

Anyone have the pocket dimensions? I'm looking for one I can stick a spare bike tube and compact pump in.

If nobody else answers your question, here is mine (I tossed my pack last week, because I wore it out from use, loved it when I had it and will buy another/similar soon!): I would take the items to a store and ask to try to fit them in the 2 pockets on a floor model. Because both have extremely limited space. I used to carry a small fluid bottle and some tissues in the bottom pocket, and that came pretty close to maxing it out. In the middle upper pocket, I always had problems cramming everything in there that I needed to carry for a long ebike ride: wallet, phone, keys, etc. I carry the items you describe in a regular size rucksack, so I'm familiar with their sizes. I'm guess they might very well fit, but I would still try to test fit them if possible before purchase. Another area on this particular pack to consider, too, is the amount of water it carries. My mountain bike rides are so long now, I need at least 3 liters for all contingencies, and this pack only carries 1.5 liters or 2 liters (I thought mine carried 2 liters, but maybe not, since specs list 1.5 liters now). Which is why I'm now carrying a full size ruck with 3-liter bladder in the back. Again, I loved this pack when I carried it, I guess I just grew out of it, but will still buy something similar again for short bike rides around town.
