Product Description Fretboard Logic DVD 2.0 features Interactive guitar lessons in that the material is presented in a format that imitates a one-on-one teaching environment and study aids are linked. A massive overhaul to the original Video I and II. This upgrade adds roughly ten times the musical, visual and educational content as before, as well as technological and educational improvements such as better menus, interactivity and staged progression. Each subject area gets demonstrated in various styles on different kinds of guitars and starts with beginner level difficulty which then increases in complexity as you progress. This makes each piece - whether it is Heavy Metal or Classical, Blues or Country, Soft Rock or Hard - doable, challenging and a great learning experience. This DVD also represents a change from each video following each book in series, to each video drawing from all three but with a focus on increasing the abilities of each player so that others will notice the difference. Complete transcriptions with both tab and notation are available to view online by DVDaccess link and also available in book form from our Catalog (See Supplements to DVD 2.0). The supplemental material includes dual format transcriptions (Tab and Notation), citations, lyrics and charts. About the Actor Bill Edwards has been a professional guitarist and instructor, and an owner of a retail music store. For the last ten or twenty years, he has made a living publishing his discoveries and observations on learning to play guitar.

Great DVD - Confusing Menus, but Stick With It
You can find other reviews about the content elsewhere. I would tend to agree with all of them. The whole Fretboard Logic and explanation using CAGED is really opening doors for me. I'm self-taught so it is helpful to get a better understanding of the 'why' since I find a lot of 'how' out there.I would have rated this video 5 stars if the menus worked better. This is pretty much homebrew video production - no frills. And, I have problems with the menus playing back on my PS3. Maybe it is my device but the menus seem a little erratic and I have to do extra effort to navigate to the areas I want to be at. Might work better on a computer - don't know yet, but I prefer to watch DVDs on my television.Definitely get the companion books. The on-screen tabs are helpful, but this is a supplement to the books. The video will stand on its own but you might be frustrated at times. Conversely - there are elements that are only in the videos and not in the books...like the score/tab for the blues section.

wrong format
My DVD was brand new in the sealed wrapper. When I tried to run it on my computer, it gave the error message: Division Error." That means the DVD was meant for another part of the world.

don't bother
This DVD doesn't work for me. It does not get into the detail that I was interested in seeing. After watching the first half hour without seeing any concrete information I realized I was wasting my time. I did not want to watch someone play guitar. I would recommend not spending the money.

A review from a man who knows
I have bought almost every guitar instructional series on the market this is the best there is. Bill Edwards has developed the most logical, and comprhensive method for learning guitar that there is. It starts with simple framework and then it builds. Everything is linked together so that the student learns quickly. He also puts the student first. Once you start learning from him you can tell that he has thought of whats best for the student. No excess fat. Of course I got this new dvd too. It may say begginer, but its so much more. Amazing piece of material...enough said.
