A great saw, but not made for super fine work.
Be sure to do your homework as to what you need the saw to do. I originally bought this saw for working on smaller projects, having not read the description very carefully. But, in the long run I have found this saw to be a great addition to my tool collection.I received my saw on time. It came straight as an arrow, and sharp as a razor! (As my thumb would unfortunately find out) I still have it, my thumb that is.I definitely recommend this saw.

Makes me feel competent
I bought this saw on the strength of D. Hottenroth's review. I was building a picnic shelter with four 6x6 posts and needed something to cut them fairly accurately. This saw did just that. Before each cut, I drew four lines around the post. It amazed me how well the saw tracked the lines and how little effort was required.Since this is the only Ryoba saw I've ever purchased, I can't compare this saw to any others. But I will say that using this saw is an enjoyable experience.

A must for post & beam work
This is my FAVORITE new hand tool for post & beam work. One side is dual-row, fine teeth- flip it and the other is single-row rough cut. The pull motion on this is brilliant.

Also good for finer cuts on lighter wood
I have 5 acres of oak and hickory trees in oklahoma. Prune them all with this saw. Also good for finer cuts on lighter wood, use it to make bird houses. A very good. Product.
