This Works Well!
Cooked chicken breast burger and wedges in it and they came out perfect. The bowl is just over 6" diameter and the unit itself is about 8" dia (although base is slightly less, the 8" doesn't include the handle). The height is 12". Seems well made, and is very simple to use. it has an orange light to say it's on and a green light to say it's reached the temperature you set. Bowl and stand were easy to clean. Got mine for my caravan. It's only for one person, but if you just want to do sausage and bacon rolls for breakfast you could cook enough for two, or a pot of wedges etc.

Much better than an oven!
The great mistake is to think of this as fryer. I have tried potato chips, and I can understand the disappointment. I didn't buy it for that, but to use as a cheap replacement for an oven in the campaign to use less electricity. My diet was very much cooking fresh chill dishes in the oven - dividing into 2 for 2 meals. Didn't see why an energy crisis should make me completely change my diet. Here are. things I have tried - a chicken curry which is sold in a wooden container - used micro wave to cook the rice. Sour dough Pizza sold with olives, pepper, cheese and pesto - I add roasted Artichoke. ! whole pizza is too large anyway. I cut it into prtions will go into the fryer, and made 3 meals out of it. Roasted Grapefruit is another treat. In otherwords experiment! I bought 2 cookery books and sent them back realising you could lots of things and what you need to do is to experiment,, making your own after buying a commercial product to give yourself confidence first.Cleaning - hardly a problem as I have bought a packet of paper liners. Use 1 to line the bottom, one to put the food one, then a piece torn the right size to put on the top, to stop the food from burning (tuck in as you may find IT burning instead.I live alone and this size is fine for me, and I see that a student could use it in the same way as I do. In terms of saving electricity I am bot heating the whole oven, or much of the kitchen, My perception is that cooking times are slightly less, and provided you are not cooking for too lonf - I have always used less than 1/2 hour , more 20 minutes at 180 degrees I am definitely saving money. Also It is easier to make 2 portions out of one prepared meal - then perhaps buy vegetables and mashed potato to heat in the micro wave and serve with. I hope you are convinced it's not just a substitute fryer, but something you can use in lots of different ways - and this size is fine for single people or students...... and it is much easier to clean than an oven!!

Great Little Air Fryer
This is my first air fryer, and so far I am happy with the results. It is easy to operate, and is very suitable for two person meals.

It just works (for a student especially) and is a reputable brand
Hi I bought this for our student daughter as she's in digs and is health and electricity cost-consciousShe doesn't fry anything but uses it to just cook things like jacket potato, part baked rolls and really anything that needs heat to cook as in an oven, but for one or two at a stretch. That said, she did cook some sauages for her boyfriend, and as the tray inside can be positioned a little up from the bottom, that allowed the hot air to circulate all around the sausages cooking them more quickly and the fat to drop through. It's ideal to save time because she can cook something else like veg in a pan whilst this is cooking meat for example.I don't own one and it was a real eye opener as to what it can cook, so really happy with it.I might get one anyway to just cut down on electricity cost as we currently cook our three part-baked dinner rolls in a 4kw oven, what a waste of electricity! My choice of this one was led by the fact that there's too many button-types out there and essentially all you need to know is how long at what temperature, so two rotary dials make that easy to use.I've found in the past that on some ovens/cookers, the digital screens go wrong or the buttons stop working, so that influenced my decision here.Lastly, it's made by Salter, a professional brand in the kitchen and one I trust. So far my daughter is delighted with it and cooks almost eclusively on it having found way more uses than those I've detailed here.

Works well, but potnetially dangerous
This does the job fine - but the 2 retaining screws for the basket work loose. Today, the basket and its contents fell out as I was emptying it - thankfully, not brning me. There's a design issue here that neeeds addressing!

Nearly two years old and still going strong
I bought this air fryer in June 2023, I don't use it every day but I'd say 3-4 times a week, I bought it for just under £25 and can't believe how much the price has increased! The unit itself is compact and the pictures on all the air fryers have the basket loaded to the top... ridiculous advertising as air fryers should have a single layer of food. So it's very small, I can cook 2 or 3 chicken drumsticks or one quarter pounder, no room for chips or wedges so you'll have to have a very posh dining experience where each course is actually part of the same course....The timer is a rotary knob which clicks around on its own, it cannot be forwarded so you just have to let it keep ticking until the bell goesIt heats up quickly and food cooks evenly, nice results all round. I've had no problems with anything, it does what it's always done! It's a little loud but that's to be expected. For the price now I'd shop around as it's too expensive for the size, it's a great little air fryer and if it ever drops back to a sensible price I'd happily buy it again!Summary....price not good, unit very good!
