Gonzo Mesh is a special coated mesh covered in a secret recipe of ingredients that makes it superior to traditional soft or hard mesh pieces in every aspect. Traditional mesh pieces bag out and become inconsistent and unusable in the elements. Wax mesh pieces tend to lose their wax coating in a rapid fashion. Gonzo Mesh is WATERPROOF! Easy to string, very consistent, adds ball control and a little extra grip on the ball.

This is a real game changer.
I've been coaching lacrosse for 17 years, and playing it for over 30. I have always had an affinity for stringing sticks, and I've been doing it since I was a kid. I now typically string 40-50 sticks a year for the kids in my program. I live in Central New York, where we have snow to start the season, then wet, muddy fields and tons of rain all spring. Keeping a pocket consistent, mesh or traditional, in these conditions is nearly impossible. I even experimented with using center tracks designed for a women's stick because it was constructed of rubber, which didn't stretch or get soaked when it rained. That worked OK, but it was still strung with lots of nylon string quasi-traditional style, so there was still plenty of water absorbent material to get messed up.Along comes Gonzo mesh, and I think the answer has been found. I don't know how they do it, but this stuff feels like a non-slip pad. The pocket comes pre-formed, so it is truly "string it and sling it". You can put this on a head in about 20 minutes, and immediately step on the field and play. The mesh grips the ball very well, so the ball tracks true through the pocket for passes and shots that are on target. It's really waterproof, so the mesh doesn't get heavy and stretch when it gets wet. Unlike waxed mesh, whatever proprietary goo they are putting on this mesh doesn't flake off after a few practices.Time will tell what the lifespan of this stuff is. I have gotten so used to a pocket lasting about a year due to all the environmental torture they go through around here if it exceeds that I will be thrilled.I know many may bristle at the price - it's 5X as much as a piece of regular mesh or the supplies to string a traditional pocket, but if you play in the snow and snow and on muddy fields, and you want to be able to replace your pocket and be game ready immediately, then it's worth the price.I think in five years everybody will be using this stuff - regular mesh will disappear!
