Yes, the product does not have any effect on metals. But as with any drain opener, when the product removes the organic matter clogging the pipes ,existing leaks that were hidden can then appear.

Pour some in drain, and then open hot water. It should keep drains cleaned. Make sure you do not touch chemical; it will burn.
