Good Tool for Therapy
My therapist recommended this book, and I'm enjoying it so far. It's definitely set up with a lot of activities that can either be done in therapy, with other people, or by yourself. I'm finding it useful as an adult "filling in the gaps" from my past, and enriching my future with relationships. It's essentially like a guidebook for how attachment works in human beings. Would recommend ♥

Very informative and well written
This was a very well written book that I feel all parents should read. Though this is a book more geared towards a therapeutic profession. It provides dozens of worksheets and ways to work through trauma related atachment issues in all types of scenarios from each stage of life and varied special circumstances such as people with ASD, ID, foster care, bipolar disorders, etc. While some of the book I disagree with, it still made great and easy to understand points.

This book is a gentle teacher for our clients and for all of us.
This is a great tool for therapists working with clients who need support with attachment struggles. Many of the ideas are practical however to have the tools assembled when I need a resource at the tip of my fingers, it helps a lot. It is best if the therapist works through the book first before using any of the material with a client so they are prepared, open and in sync! Otherwise we do an injustice to our clients!!

Helped me earn a high distinction
I recently passed my Uni course in attachment with a high distinction. The lecturer commented on the depth and range of sources I used a lot which were from this book. This book gave me a great advantage in acquiring difficult to find sources on attachment. Thank you.

Good for parents or family therapists
I was surprised at how much of this book's focus is for parents trying to help with their child's attachment issues. Great for (very involved) parents or family therapists, but not so helpful for clinicians working with adult individuals. Which wouldn't be a problem if the author had stated this focus ANYWHERE on the book's cover or summary. Was a little misleading.

Basic, simplistic, wholly unhelpful.
I have clients that are doing deep attachment work and I thought it could be helpful to have some interventions or assessments that were ready-to-go. I’m not sure what I was expecting but this seems more like a series of simplistic questions printed on a variety of topics that have little to do with the complexity of attachment. I’m not sure who would use this clinically. These worksheets have about as much depth as something your Homeroom teacher would hand out in middle school that they got at a behavior intervention CEU workshop. If that’s what you are looking for, by all means, this is for you but I would be embarrassed to give this to an adult. It is organized well and easy to read but if you need a worksheet to get this kind of information (Why did your relationship end? What was good about it? What was bad about it?) from someone, I’m not sure what kind of therapy is going on. Yikes.
