Well made and fit as described. Haven't worn enough to know how they wear over time. Seem light enough weight to wear in lieu of shorts when you need protection from sun or going out where long pants are more appropriate than shorts. Haven't unzipped legs yet, but look like they will be great that way too. I am comfortable 37" waist, so usually get 36" with couple inches of stretch. These are comfortable, but hope I don't grow into 38".

Value: Great value! These were less than $40.00. The usual price is $50 or more.Durability: Over the years I have had several pair and never lost a button, had a torn seam, or a broken zipper. They keep there color and do not fray. Essentially last forever. I have only given these away when I gained or lost weight and suspect their new owners got a lot of wear out of them too.Belt: Despite another reviewer disparaging the belts I like them. They do what belts are meant to do, keep your pants up. You can always use a different belt if you prefer a different look. The loops accept a normal sized belt, but not a wide belt.Care: Wash on normal cycle dry on normal cycle. Leave the belt in preferably buckled so it does not get snagged in the washer. Alternatively just rinse them, hand wring, and hang up to dry. They dry quickly.Best climate for use: Hot, warm or cool. Better get some long johns if you want to wear them in cold weather. Definitely casual wear good for outdoor activity; although, probably acceptable in many work environments.Fit: I bought 36w32l and they fit fine with a little give if your true waist size is 37.Bottom line: Good quality pants that will last a long time.

Took these on my adventure trip to Thailand and they proved to be a good buy. They are very lightweight and comfortable. Quick drying. Definitely for warm/hot weather. However, I did learn of a couple drawbacks:1) The zipper that connects the pant leg to the shorts is very small and a little fussy. I found it difficult to zip the legs back on while wearing the pants. It was much easier to do when I wasn't wearing them. The zipper got stuck a few times. Once the legs were attached, they never started to unzip on their own - good connection.2) The "belt" is thin and similar to a cheap camera strap. It is not fashionable, it's functional. If you plan to go from jungle to a slightly nice restaurant, you might want to use your own belt (sometimes you can't change). It was fine for everyday use though. Just don't expect anything of substance.Despite that, I'm glad I bought them and they worked great. I just used my own belt as needed.

I ordered these zip leg pants for my husband to use on our recent vacation and he loved them. He has some zip leg pants already that are thicker, but these worked much better for traveling to a warm climate. They are nice enough to wear to dinner or for hiking. It was so convenient having the versatility because our mornings were cool, but as the day went on it got hot. These are a must have for vacations that you’re just not sure what temps you’ll be experiencing.

Love these pants when traveling from a cold to a warm climate! No messing with the line on the plane to go to the bathroom just to change clothes before landing. Good fit and both the long pant and the shorts look great.

Comfortable and light. Dries quickly. BUT very flimsy. No padding in the butt or knees so not suitable for active sports.

This is my second pair of Coliumbias in this style, and what a disappointment. I've worn them three times--twice to go out casually, and once hiking. On the hiking trip I put my phone in my pocket and it dropped right through. This was not wear-and-tear. As you can see from the pictures, the threads simply came apart. Horrible quality on this. I'm surprised, too. My other Columbias are great, and I've got other gear by them. And, of course, I'm outside the return window to get a replacement pair. Hopefully a local alterations/repair place can fix them.Boo, hiss.
